Well it is not dry here. It is raining and the wind is wild. I could wake to snow. But the rains are to move off by about noon tomorrow.

Good morning. The news is chock full of our weather. It is cold and snowy in places that don't get much in the way of accumulation ever. Watching the rose Parade tomorrow will be seeing a lot of gloved and hatted southern Calif people shivering through it.
I am on the wrong (or right) face of my mountain to get any snow accumulation. I'll take it.

I have NO plans for the new year..but then I rarely do.

Rod is working today and he will come home tired & hungry...so I will make supper. HE is celebrating by requesting spaghetti & meatballs for supper, you know that I get to fix & clean up after ? He will be in bed by 8 pm I am sure.

So pretty much the old adage is correct---I will be doing tonight what I will be doing for the most part in 2015. BUT then I guess I am warm, dry, and have food to eat & a place to live...so I should be thankful.

Today I took my older son a gift of cans to recycle. And took him to town to do that. He will spend New Year's Eve there. It is darned cold. And supposed to be colder tonight than last night. I am glad to be staying in.

Rod is in bed. I cooked supper we ate Rod was very happy with the meal.....esp. as he was the one who made up the menu. But that was all that was done tonight---It was just like any other night.

I know I am not a teenager anymore..but he could have taken me out to eat supper.....
I get to go to Wal-Mart tomorrow..
He did offer to take me to see a movie, so I need to go see if there is something I would like to see.

I am not doing much tonight. Waiting on a good time to go to bed. It is creeping up on me.

I was falling asleep a few hours ago, but am awake now...I will hope I get tired here in awhile so I will get some good sleep tonight....

Hi it is cold today..16* right now.. hubby went to give grandson ride to work- his car won't start- he is going to put charger on it to see if it's the battery... probably is from the cold.. Hopefully he will be able to buy a new car soon.. our plan since it's my Mom's old car to pass it on to my nephew and his girlfriend... they are saving up but would help them a lot if we just sign it over to him, it's been thru a lot of family members...

Going to clean up a little around here,, get Christmas put away... start cleaning out stuff again... start my donation boxes going out the door again.. I mean does anyone need 15 vases? and old cookbooks.. plan to go thru them and scan the receipes I want and get rid of books... have so much stuff no one else wants... will give kids the stuff they do want , let them store it...LOL! thats my new yrs goals anyway... start get ridding of stuff!Now if I can just get Joe to do the same.

See, I want my stuff---it makes me happy. And since I already own it & cannot ever afford to replace it should I want it, it makes sense to me just to keep it. Now, I am not a hoarder I promise, but I do keep a lot....My Husband would be so happy to be married to you. If he doe snot want something on Monday out the door it goes...now if on Tuesday he needs whatever, he either buys it again or does without.

His mom kept like I do but she had a mind like a steel trap & lots of storage..if Rod or his father ever asked her for something she had it in their hand in 5 minutes or less. My mind is not as good.

I went to bed at 10 pm last night..we did nothing nor will we do anything today. It's too cold either way.

Hoping this year brings you a better year than the one before. I pray I never have to repeat the year 2014 again.

I need to binge a few things as well...I have too many baking dishes and such. They are gratefully accepted at the food bank.

Good morning. I am sure I posted yesterday. Now I am wondering where? Maybe I forgot to submit it.
I do hope anyone and everyone stays safe on the roads if they need to be out. We also have some icy roads. But most should de-ice themselves in a couple hours. Our temps should be back to normal on Sunday.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. I have no idea about the condition of the roads...I have not turned on the news yet. But then I have not heard from Rod, so I guess he got to work OK. Carol is staying in today & will try to do some work. I have done nothing for long enough--I need to get back in the swing of things.

I've been chasing the neighbors goats out of my yard. They were eating the lorepedlums. Aggravating.

While I was eating my lunch I read back on the Y forum. We're a funny group.

Tina, Johnny and I stayed out until 1 :30. We haven't stayed out that late in years. It was a lot of fun. The group was our age or older and man are we old. We old people are funny looking and even funnier looking when we dance. I do think it's a shame though when old people feels it's necessary to get so plastered they fall over. Really don't understand that at any age.

And yes dodge, Johnny will NOT miss church. It's a good thing but sometimes aggravating. I don't think God will punish a person for missing a church service once in a while but Johnny says Jesus didn't come down off the cross because he wanted to go on vacation or out with friends. When I do miss church Johnny says "go to hell if you want too, I'm going to church."

We got about another inch of the white stuff last night but it's slowly warming up so hoping roads are better soon... Joe shoveled again so our walks are clear... I got busy and paid bills this morning... got months budget set up... found the calendar I bought for the kitchen finally- need to write myself notes to tell me where I store stuff sometimes...realized I am out of check registers too.. told hubby to pick up some at credit union when he goes...they will give him handfuls and if I ask I get 2...

Well off too finish deciding on dinner... thinking chili or fish... both are easy...

I have yet to decide on dinner tonight.
Ted wanted a PB sandwich for lunch. I brought out a new jar and opened it. It turned out it was super crunchy. So not what Ted likes. I was out of smooth except for one jar of a new brand. Well we found out that the dog likes Planters even if Ted does not. Ted went back into the kitchen and brought the bread, mayo, mustard and sliced cheese out. Along with a paper plate and a knife. He doesn't speak but he communicates very well sometimes. I ate the super chunky PB and Teddy had a cheese sandwich with a fruit smoothie.
It is hard to decide dinner right now.

WE are having a beef roast, potatoes & carrots. I do so hope it gets done in the time the recipes I found said....I have the temp up an gave myself a few extra minutes....here is hoping...

Our nephew called at lunch, he is dropping by to see us while he is home on leave. he just graduated from boot camp & is soon on his way to someplace in Florida (I think) for his army computer school...well it is a navy base...but I guess they share....So, I cleaned straightened the upstairs this afternoon instead of the basement..oh well...

Congrats to your nephew. It is a good thing he is doing.

It is a very good thing. he says if he does well enough in this next training (6 months) then he will be sent to another training facility on the east coast for another 6 months.

My nephew has a 4 year degree from The U of I Illinois in linguistics & whatever else...he had a double major...


Valarie & my SIL Chris say that this was THE BEST way for him to go to assure himself of a good job in his chosen field.

We had meat loaf and broccoli for dinner. I planned on corn too but didn't have it and didn't want to go in the rain to the store.

no, he is in the Army...chosen on purpose because of the job he wanted, and he went in as a "specialist" ???

All of your meals sound good. We had pulled pork sandwiches and mac n cheese with peas and carrots. Some of us are a little bored with the mac n cheese but it is a favorite of Teddy's. And he has a limited acceptable diet.
Looking forward to bedtime in a bit. Still mighty cold outside.
