Here is a new coffee house for chattering with our friends. Good morning. Today, Teddy and I will go and shop. We need some bread and fresh stuff for this last week of spring break. This will only be our second trip out this vacation. Umm, the spring countdown needs updating to summer or something.

Good Morning !! It is so fresh & clean in here....and roomy !!! I got a good night's sleep & I think I am ready to go for the day. Dinner is in the slow cooker. (stew meat) I have no idea what I will do with it though. perhaps just thicken the gravy & onions & make mashed potatoes to go with it. I have fresh green beans for the oven also. I have lots of things on my to do list. Most involve phone calls to places.

You made me hungry with your dinner plans, Carol. But I had leftover pork to deal with. So I have shredded pork in the crockpot simmering making chili. Going to serve that with a green salad and Fritos. How do you fix green beans in your oven?

Ok ladies..I hate that my DH does not have his desktop fixed & hooked up to the printer....I cannot find my scribbling of a recipe anywhere.. but here is what I remembered I did. I sprayed a lipped baking sheet with cooking spray, so the beans would not stick. I bought some fresh green beans & trimmed the ends off & then washed & dried the beans. I did not have bacon but I had bacon grease, so I: melted a few tablespoons of bacon grease (I keep in in 1 TB sizes frozen in a bag in my freezer) on the baking sheet.] I put the dried beans onto the baking sheet, mixed them around to coat the beans and added 1 or 2 cloves of minced garlic & however much onion I wanted. I guess one could just mix everything in a bowl & then put it in a greased baking sheet. Then I roasted it at 425*F until I thought it was done. BUT here is a recipe I found on the internet just now: 6 slices of bacon, cut crossways into small pieces 1 lb. green beans, washed & trimmed 1 shallot (why not use a finely diced onion, or green onions?) olive oil or favorite cooking spray..I used butter flavored Pam Black pepper...to taste Heat oven to 425. ... Spray cooking sheet mix beans in olive oil and lay on prepared pan. sprinkle with large slices of onion or shallots sprinkle with bacon pieces and pepper. Roast for 15 minutes, stir Roast longer until the bacon is crisp as you would like & the beans are as cooked as you would like.

OK, I have made bacon wrapped green beans but I began by boiling the beans first. Thank you Carol.

yes many of the recipes that I found said to boil them first, and that would probably help them to not cook so long. Also they can be sautéed in a large skillet instead of roasting them in the oven.
I saw how you could wrap beans with bacon & roast them..that would be good for a special meal I bet.

Good morning, I was very busy yesterday. A farmer lost a horse by accidentally overdosing him on dewormer, we had to deal with that then help a few others who ran out of hay. I feel bad but we only have so much as well. The local hay dealer had too many customers this year...people are now in panic mode. We still have about 7 to 8 ft of snow on the fields with no let-up in sight. I bought green bean seeds yesterday...you must have read my mind

sorry for the snow, sorry for the loss of a horse..that is sad. Greem beans are the best done like that. I like when my mom cooks fresh beans with ham & potatoes. BUT when I do it, the beans remain "fuzzy" ....and I do not like Fuzzy.

Good morning. I am sorry for the hay situation, Sunny. I hope they can get relief. That is sad. And I hope you get a bumper crop of hay this year. And the weather you need to harvest it. Today I am going to work on some cleaning. While Teddy is going out with his sisters. I hope they have fun.

I cleaned house, today. And I took a decent nap this afternoon. Ted went with his sisters to a mall. He was a little gimpy going in so they got him a wheelchair. That worked out well for him. I need to buy him one.

I took my niece to her Drs. appt. like I had said, but then we went out to eat & then to a few stores. it seems her Dr. told her he wanted her to walk on her 1 week post surgery foot--so walk on it she did... We now have the beginnings of a rain storm. Glad I am tucked safely inside.

Good morning. We are supposed to have an 'above freezing point' day today, a welcome sight. Tina, you are going to spoil Teddy Stay safe Junie. I love perogies but they have to be homemade...store bought ones are not even close.

Good morning. Teddy has truly spoiled me. He is a joyful companion. I am so glad you are above freezing. I don't know what I am going to do with this day. Many things I could do but haven't settled on any of them yet.
