Does anyone else have a problem with shallots everywhere? Any place they have grown they are always lurking there the next year. This year I planted the runts from last year in the place I thought would be good, but I forgot I planted some in fall and those were coming up and then over where they were last year and the year before there are volunteers all over. So I have three rows of them on the edges and two inside too! Should I just plant in the same place every year or is that not ok for shallots?

GOOD G...GG...GGG...GRIEF! That's a shallot? I've only seen the ones at the store, about the size of a garlic bulb.
I don't know of any reason why they shouldn't grow in the same place year after year. Garlic, for instance, is grown as a perinnial, thriving in the same spot.
BTW, how ya doin', Tamara? Been a while.

No the thing in my signature photo is an onion.
I don't think I will ever move my shallot locations again!

Shallots have baby bulbs growing off them called offsets...
and it's an identical copy of it's parent.
*Lilies and the Tulips do the samething, produce babies
off to the sides of the bulbs*
