Yep, you read right. I got one in my Michigan Bulb order. There was no up or down indication. It looked the same on both ends. But so far it's not done anything. And I'm wondering if I planted it upside down.

I tried Googling images of the bare roots but didn't have much luck.

I guess my question is, if I did plant it upside down, is it a lost cause, since the roots have been exposed for a while? Thanks!

Nope, it isn't lost. Most tuberous roots will right themselves if they are planted upside down. How long has it been buried? If a relatively short time, give it some more time in the ground. After a couple of months you should see what it will do.

Thanks Tina!! I hope you are right. It was just the weirdest looking thing. lol I will give it a bit more time. I'd say it's been planted for about 2 1/2 weeks.

Update: It's a goner. For whatever reason, the roots rotted. (I probably watered it too much, too soon.) I plucked one out of the dirt and it was nasty. So... moving on. :(
