I am all "circus'd" out GG had a good time and I got on the roller coaster with her. I have never been on one before. Other than that, my groceries are done and today is a day of cleaning and running. GG is going home for a couple of days.

So tell me, Sunny--how do you like Roller Coasters??
I myself do not care for them now--When I was younger, I would go on them, but I never really liked them then either.

I will not be around much in the next few days. This afternoon I will have to put away the computer, so my family can eat supper (my laptop lives on my dining room table) Then tomorrow & tomorrow night my grandsons will be here for the day/night, so I will be on Grandma duty. Catch you all at some point on Saturday, after they and their parents have gone home.

We are on a heat advisory up to and including all day Sunday. Heat indexes to be around 110. Sad as I will not be able to take the boys out to play tractors in the dirt.

Good morning. I turned on my cooler already today. It's warmish.
We are under a heat advisory as well.
The kids are going out about 10am and headed for the mall.
The only time I am going out today is to take my trash to the dumpster and check my mail. And I'll do that early. I'm staying close to my cooler.
I'd also like to hear about your coaster ride, Sunny.

Our cooler is on too... already hot here, glad we did our grocery running yesterday... do have to finish my laundry up today.. and vacuum the downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs.. maybe... was up early today.. so made breakfast for us... was good but now I don't feel like doing much .LOL!
My dd and her hubby had to have vet put their German Shepard down over the weekend, it was time... she had the dog version of dementia, she ruined every door in the house, and most of the carpet too, she was about 15 yrs old... sad but she wasn't living a good life any more... so they are down to just 3 dogs now... hope they leave it at that for awhile now... They are doing a lot of fixing now and painting the house... she wants to get as much done before school starts again, middle of August here.. online school has shipped books and materials for Nicoli already... 5th grade here we come... hopefully this is last yr of home school for him, they moved 6th grade to the middle school and he wants to go back then, they did so well making it as easy as possible with Derek to succeed and Carrie has talked to them about Nicoli's needs too and they are willing to do what he will need to help him adjust..so we are all hoping it will work...he hasn't been on meds for this whole summer... even in the heat in Texas and no attacks.. so praying he has outgrown it... he has grown a lot and gained weight... that in itself is wonderful.

Well laundry isn't doing itself so better go get it moving...have a good day all and stay cool...

It is nice to hear from you, Nana. And I am glad Nicoli is doing so well.
The kids have put off travel plans until tomorrow. Which is ok with me. And why I don't mention these things to Teddy beforehand.

I love riding roller coasters!!! And love a circus too. Such fun. Colt may be coming this weekend and I'll feel like I'm in a circus. :)

Yesterday was the burial of ashes for my grandson's father...why they hold them for one year before burial stumps me. It makes the whole process of grieving begin once more. I am glad that he is finally in a resting place for visitation now.

My Sunday School class is studying Genesis, well as much preK children can study Genesis. We're going to be doing day 6 so we're going to make a person out of a paper bag. I've got a lot of drawing and cutting out to do because I'm drawing the outline of the clothes for them to color and cutting out decorations to stick on them. Should be interesting looking people.

Today I have to go to town to pick up GG and her brother...they will stay the night and in the morning he is getting baptized. DD has to work at a fundraiser this evening so she'll just get a drive in the morning. I also have to make food for the church brunch after the baptism...it will be a busy evening.

Good morning. It's hot still. I could complain but there are so many who don't have cooler alternatives. I try to think of them. And am thankful for my cooler.
It is supposed to hit 107* again today so I will stay in and cool. Tomorrow is supposed to be ten degrees cooler. It's a cold snap at 97*

HI, everyone !!!

My DD and her family is on their way home. now I am going back to being Carol once again. It is tiring but much more fun being Gram or Grandma.

Tina...YAY for coolers..and for a drop in temperatures...Isn't it crazy to think that 97 is a cold snap ??/ but then I guess we should be all happy with what we get---as I have said in the past...this heat---it is Not ice & it is not snow--so we should be grateful. Did the kids ever go out on their outing??? Did Mom ever get a nap ???

Nana: Sorry for your DD's family's loss. My oldest DD lost her Siberian Husky 2 weeks ago. she was just going to clal the vet to make a house call to put him down but he passed away. He passed during a heat wave, but they have their kennels in a garage that is cooled with a/c, and they had him in there during the heat wave, (all but to go potty)..but he still passed...he was 11 and it was hard for him to move at the last.....When we lose an animal it is like losing family.
.....I am glad to hear that Nicoli is doing better...I hope this year with his school continues to help him grow. YAY for the enxt year..I hope that all goes well.

Sheri...YAY for Colt coming---tired from grandchildren is a great sort of tired...So sorry for Colby's illness. Is he in the hospital ?? I will poray for a speedy recovery......Sunday School..I taught it for 18 years...first 5 thru 8, then 3 to 5, and finally for preschool. it was work but great fun. Sounds like you enjoy it also.
It is nice of Johnny to help.

Sunny: They wait a year to bury...WOW.....That is a bit different..but then I suppose his family wonders why others bury their loved ones so fast....I hope this grieving time goes quicker...
...The baptism sounds like a lot of work, but the good kind. Plus it should help everyone remember the good thing in life once again.

I went out & watered tonight. Tomorrow night I will go out & cut back some herbs & the dead head some flowers. It is back to real life for this grandma..

I did as little as possible today. But I'm still tired out. Sweet dreams all.

I should be tired, but I am not...once again---when I do go I should sleep well though, as I did not last night.

I wish my Husband would eat Soup---I would live on it in the summer...(& winter too) but now I could heat up the house once, make it, & then we could microwave some when we wanted to eat. but oh well.

I spent almost $200.00 at the grocery last week. I am hoping I can stay away for awhile...

I am tackling laundry at the moment...it is going to be another hot day so other than that is a quick errand to pay the monthly utility bills.

Later I also need to wash the gable ends on the house....apparently vinyl siding can be painted now so I bought a gallon of brown siding paint last week to match the shutter colors. Good bye 'grey on everything'

My electricity went out sometime during the night. I slept through it but woke to a couple of clocks not correct and things. A little otherworldly feeling.

Good afternoon: I have had a busy morning. I still need to put the beds back together, but then I am done with todays list of "to do" items.

It is a rainy day here...and we are having our own "cold snap," Tina, or so the weather people say. This week it is to be in the mid to high 80's. If that is a cold or even a cool snap I need to work harder on meanings of words, huh ???

That would be a cool snap here, Carol. A welcome one. But it would be unseasonable for sure.
I also finished my to-do list. As much as I am able at least. As little I can do. I tried to nap but it didn't happen. I think I'll make mac n cheese for Teddy.

WE thought it was going to rain, again this evening--so I went out at 6 & worked on my back yard for 1-1/2 hours. I cleared most of the weeds from between the pavers in the back. (what is left can be done away with, with round-up) Then I trimmed back my herbs & re-weeded around them.
Then I dead-headed my mini-butterfly bush, and some of my flowers...I was afraid to do too much as it
A bath was next. & now, guess what ???? Tomorrow I get to go to CERAMICS !!!! YAY for painting !!!!

Tina, I am sorry you did not get a nap..perhaps tomorrow..I sure hope so for you.........

Good morning. No, the fire burning now is north of LA. I am about 60 miles east of LA. I am watching it. But I am not in danger from this one.
I am going to go out shopping today. I really don't want to but it's better than going hungry.

I ran my errands and came home to no power once again. These thunderstorms are wreaking havoc everywhere.

I just came back inside from sweeping off the pavers in the back yard, and it started to rain. It is raining "cats & dogs" as the saying used to go. So glad I got the pavers swept off first.

See, Rod let my weeds grow on them while I was gone--he did however "mow them" so, I had to rip up the weeds, (they came out by the roots) and then I had to let the cut weeds dry on the pavers. So, tonight, I was able to sweep the cut weeds off of them. Yay for rain & yay for getting the work done first. why, I even have buckets out to catch rain for my inside plants, and I have all outside pots out in the rain to be self watered....yay for rain & yay for timing.

oops there is thunder...bye for now
