here we go, a new Coffee House for our talking pleasure.

Good evening.

I had a full day today...weeding, lawn mowing and brush cutting. Then a good scrubbing in the shower.

I also just finished the food and party prep for GG's birthday party tomorrow. We made her pinata last night.

Rod woke me this AM. I am now on my way to help my MIL buy some shoes...then I will be taking my Mom to the eye Drs. in the afternoon.

Good morning. The fire is laying down a bit and was headed away from me. So I am good for now although I feel for anyone in it's path.
So I need to go out today and pick up some things. I hope I can get out and home quickly. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep.

Let's see. I packed up my trash and took it down to the dumpster. And stopped to check my mail. Then I went to the bank and took care of business. Then off to the grocery store for $140 worth of groceries (no meat). I brought it home and had some help carrying everything in and putting it away. (Thank you Teddy and Jonni).
I'm going to toss a load in the washer and then nap.

Glad that you were able to get your errands run, Tina. Glad to that you had help hauling them in.

I got my MIL some shoes,....although sadly the white slip-ons she wanted did not fit.

I got my mom to her eye Drs. appt. One eye is doing good & she got a steroid shot in the other. So, I do not have to make that trip again for 6 weeks.

I am bitten up on my one leg---I wonder if I didn't bring in chiggers with me a few days ago.

I am birthday partied out It was a beautiful day and lots of fun but you should see the sight of my house, yikes. A full day of cleaning awaits.

The fire is still there and growing, only 6% contained. I am including a map/article of the current situation. I live just to the left of the point where the 15 and 215 merge. The closest part of the fire is about 14 miles from me as the crow flies. But it's about 28 miles away by road through the mountains. And burning away from me down the north face.

I had a nice day at ceramics, and I also went to lunch with 2 of the girls & a granddaughter of one of the ladies.
She is soon to be 8 and is cute as a button.

I stayed up to watch the news, which was on late b/c of the Olympics, to see a story about one of the people from News 5 who had a premature baby girl & then began having health issues of her own. I have no plans for tomorrow. We shall see what comes.

Today Teddy and I have an appointment at IRC. It is his first appointment since the place got shot up by the terrorist couple in December. It will be mildly interesting. It's harder to get in than an airport because of security.
And then I'll take him someplace more fun.

I am going to a produce stand today. I have not been yet this summer, and I usually go quite a lot. It should be fun.

The fire is about the same as yesterday, just more acreage burned, no structures. Yet.
I made my appointment today. I can't believe the security measures implemented. I was talking to the worker and she told me a story about a client who couldn't come in because her newborn had no ID. Insane.
I took Teddy for a shake afterwards.

Glad you got your appt. made---I believe in security, but that sounds more than ridiculous.

I have no idea what harm a baby could do....

Like I said, this is the place that a lot of people were injured or killed during the terror attack in Dec. It's a matter of closing the barn door after the cows escaped. I do have to get Teddy some real ID though. All I have for him is a school ID and that won't do much as an adult. It worked today though.
I'm not even sure where or how you'd get an ID for an infant. A passport, maybe?

Here in Illinois, one can get an ID card from the DMV. It looks just like a drivers license but it is just an ID card.

Also here, I think they automatically send the parents a SS#. So I am thinking that would work---the only other thing I could think of would be a birth certificate?? Otherwise I have no idea either.....I guess they would issue babies a passport.....


I sent my Grandson a set of Gardening tools. Valarie sent me 2 videos of him opening them. (it took 2 videos as it took him a long time to open the tools)
I cried & cried for Happy. Best part was he kept looking right into his mom's phone so it was the best video ever.

I got it done enough for the propane delivery. That is good enough for now. And I am good for the next 6 months and more.

It was a wonderful gift (the video) the best part is I can watch it any time I want to see him.

I am cleaning up house today--a bit at a time---but it will eventually be done...

Hi all, I couldn't get into my computer at all. It finally booted but now my email account isn't working at all to send or receive...guess it is going to really fail this time. Also my keyboard has stopped working altogether.

I fear that day, Sunny. I hope it somehow gets better for you. We look forward to seeing you each day.

Hope you get things fixed soon Sunny. And Tina, I'm all about security too. People are nuts and I suppose if you have a baby you might have a diaper bag or bottle or blanket which can disguise all sorts of things.

I quit my job Tuesday because I can't breath with the mold in the building (that is well known but the county continues to deny) and they called yesterday and asked if I'll work from home. Sure.

What do you do that can be done from home, Sheri? That would be an awesome solution for you.

Just watched Michael Phelps win his 4th Gold Medal in a row . Good for him--(& the USA I guess)

I have only watched bits of the games. I can't settle into them this year too much.
I am going to take Teddy through the carwash tomorrow and then into Michael's to look for things he would like. That should be a couple of hours of fun.

IN all honesty, I just turn them on around news time, as after the coverage is over for the night, the news comes on, on Channel 5 (KSDK) So I usually see the swimming & sometimes a bit of the gymnastics.

Sounds like Teddy is in for a good day tomorrow. Have fun at Michaels. I love going there & looking around myself.

I waited up and looked out in my front yard sky & in my back yard sky---I saw no meteor showers...so to bed I went.

today I have errands to run for Rod.

And we're back. Teddy enjoyed the car wash and then he spent a long time figuring out what he wanted from Michael's. $77 later we are home.
What fun I had with him. Normally he doesn't want anything. He looks at stuff in the stores but usually places things carefully back on the shelves. This time he was putting things in the basket. I love that. And he put things on the counter for checkout and paid his 4 twenty dollar bills and collected the change. He carried the bags out to the van. And then into the house.
I am pleased with my day. And with him.
