Mmmm, What are you making, Carol?

It is called a fudge nut layer dessert. I would call it a "Homemade Fudge Jumble."
There used to be a box mix that made this do not remember if it was Betty Crocker or Pillsbury.

Rod does not like it, but he was smart enough to thank me for making him a dessert.

Totally understand because Johnny and I can't stand being in the house together for a long time. He doesn't like me bossing him around and if he's here for any length of time during the day I'm definitely going to start telling him what to do. He'll never retire and that's a good thing. I can't imagine that either of my girls would want to live with me for any length of time.

I think I'd like that cake Junie so I won't make it because I'd have to eat it all. Johnny is not a sweet eater.

Sunny I think it takes a lot of gumption to raise a grand child. I love mine but they exhaust me and I can't imagine them here all the time.

You and Tina both have me beat.

I think of Sunny often when we are down with the triplets. I think Sunny is quite the .. "Grammy.." .

I wish I was the one to tell Rod what to do..........

You do not truly be in the position to tell him what to do, Carol. That is a horrible position to put yourself in.
With Jonni, I mostly stick to her own messes. Will you clean the mess in the cast iron skillet from your grilled cheese sandwich? Will you clean your egg pan please? Will you pick up the tp that missed the trashcan in the bathroom? It may take 3 or 4 days but she gets around to it soon. I make her wash all her own dishes. I wash dishes for Teddy and I and any family meals I make. It works.

You are probably correct, Tina. I just get tired of hearing it from him.

Yesterday we got a call that our old boss's barn fell in, (we used to work at his dairy farm) but he has since turned it into a beef farm. The cattle had to be moved to his brothers farm for the rest of the Winter. I just can't get over how stupid people are for not shoveling their roof.

DH is gone to help another farmer today, he had the weekend off and the phone hasn't stopped ringing. That's what happens when you are 47 and your friends are farmers in their 70's. I can thank these guys for never having DH underfoot

I have errands to run today with DD and the kids....GG stayed there for the weekend, first time in over a year. She said on a scale from 1 to 10 that Mommy was only a 3 for crankiness so she'd stay for a couple of days

GG was up half the night with a sore throat, then started coughing non stop coming on morning....another sick day here. I hate the fact that pediatricians refuse to take out tonsils now.

Cleaning, laundry and mopping is on the to-do list today.

Didn't go out of the house today. Sunday's wear me out. I'm glad I don't have to go to work.

I am not real sure just how I hurt myself, Tina. The only thing I can suggest is that I pulled one of my 5 foot Rubbermaid containers up the 14 steps from the basement to repack my Christmas decorations into. So perhaps that did something to my body. Mind you I was fine when I got it up and all the while I did my packing. did not hurt until late that night..and was merely sore the next day. This gets worse every day...

Good morning. I had a rough time sleeping last night. So I am late to start my day.
The winds have stopped but the warmth they brought is here to stay the week. I like it although we need rain.

Johnny always spends twice as much as I do when buying groceries. I'm eating a bowl of oatmeal. I try not to eat so many carbs in the afternoon but I wanted oatmeal so I cooked the old fashion kind and added honey, walnuts, real butter straight from the farm, and blueberries that I froze myself. Yummy.

Rod really basically spent money to spend money. he did get me some milk and potatoes. BUT he also got me some country crock sticks..I asked for real butter..but they did not have the brand I wanted to he bought this CC stuff........

Here that is the case most of the time. But today I could not stand very long at one time, never mind bend down to retrieve items from lower shelves.

I use margarine sticks in recipes Junie...butter is too expensive here for just everyday baking. Not sure on that brand though...here sticks come from Blue Bonnet.

It is freezing outside, we had a small storm through the night...enough just to make a mess.

GG had a dentist appt. for today that I had to cancel yesterday. I hate these fevers...I am hoping to get a doctor's appt. for her today.

Good morning. I stopped using margarine for anything years ago. When the ingredients list got unpronounceable. I stick to butter or coconut oil for most everything.

My husband's Dr. asked that he not ever eat any margarine. so I buy butter. a soft Butter for bread & sticks for cooking. used to use a 11% fat margarine for everything but after his Dr, said that I switched. I try to get it on sale & stock up in my freezer.

it is in the 40's today & sunny. I hear that by the weekend it will be in the 20's or lower.
