Tina, did Frontier have to come install a phone or did you just change companies? We needed them to install a phone and they just wouldn't show up. I would love to have a phone that works when the power is out.


Junie, do you take care of the girls 2 days a week?

Sunny I need to get in my pretend greenhouse and straighten it out but it's too hot here. I'm going to sell Colt's Lightening McQueen car and his John Deere Gator. Guess we're not having any more toddlers around here.

yes usually just Wednesday & Thursday. But we are also on call for nights & weekends. The other Grandparents do that for Brian's sister, so.....

and about Toys----I was just thinking about that today--a LOT of my toys belonged to my girls when they were young, so getting rid of them is not an option for me.......

Tina, I understand about tablets..if I did not have this laptop to fall back on I would go crazy....

Today we are going to our Grandson's Grandparent's Day. He is new to preschool, so this will be a new experience for him . And for us...time matches on....

I had a 'meet and greet' today at GG's school as well.

Tomorrow we are going to a Fall Fair where DD lives...it's my favorite fair of the year. Everything smells like pumpkin spice there.

Ah pumpkin spice. I love fall !

I wish/hope there are fair's here to go to...at this rate I should be ready for Christmas 2018 in say 2 or 3 years........

tomorrow going "home" to the dentist. So, I will not be around until late tomorrow evening if at all.

I love Fall as well. I just like the 'feel' of these local fairs. Especially chatting with the elderly women who have craft tables and such.

The last few years I have been adding to my collection of 'items' such as a potato bin, bread box, small cabinet...they are handmade wooden 'rustic' style with a brown/black wash with the cut out star primitive look. My house is certainly 'country-fied'. DD goes for the fudge, baking items. Last year she bought 10 different pieces of a home made fudge to try

I know how you feel. I am going to have to check to see if there are any fairs in this area.

Colt's grandparent day is October 5th and we're planning on going. Where Shelley's gang goes to school they have it one time - 2nd grade - and we went to those. Not sure why it's not a yearly event at least for the little kids but it's not.

Sunny there's a little town in the mountains of NC called Blowing Rock and the candy shop makes fudge in the window. They let customers try a bit of all flavors. You can make yourself sick if you're not careful. (not that I'd know this from experience :) )

I am sorta sad. Tomorrow is Grandparent day in our old church. For years I sponsored the bulletin on That Sunday in honor of the girls 2 sets of Grandparents.
( you basically pay for the cost of printing up a days bulletin, and in return you get a small blurb honoring whatever or whomever.)

why does it just about take a court order to change your information on the internet??? Does no one EVER move???

and WHY, WHY, oh WHY do all the big name companies as an example: Amazon, outsource their telephone services (name escapes me as I am so upset) to people who do not have English as their first language nor do they understand any English speaking person.

They do the same with the fudge at the fair....GB ate his full in samples. I bought a piece of caramilk fudge, it was delicious.

Junie, Oh boy. Hope you get to go to ceramics! Sorry about church too. I've asked many times to please get me a representative that speaks English that I can understand and they always do. I too feel sorry for the other person when I keep asking them to repeat themselves.

Caramilk is milk chocolate and caramel mixed together.

Winter's wood is in the shed and piled, next year's wood is half cut and we got hit with our first hard frost this morning....it looks like a dusting of snow. It is 32*F out there at the moment.

GG is sick with a fever again...yay for the start of school...not.

I am thinking my DD would love Caramilk. Today we drove home, then for e to our respective counties and both got certified copies of our birth certificates. I'm my county's clerks office one lady tried to tell me I had the wrong last name down....the 2nd one said are you sure you were even born where you said ?? I do not see you in the system.....

It's 12:10PM and I've already been to the doctor, to the library, to the farmers market, to the drug store, and taken a pair of shoes to the shoe store. And now I'm home eating an egg and tomato.


I'm still hoping Florence takes a turn and doesn't come my way. The aftermath of Hugo was so horrible I don't want to think about it happening again.

I had to run DH's errands this morning, then pick up some needed items. They closed our local bank then left a bank machine....which never works it seems. I have to drive 45 min one way to get to the bank now.

Hello..We are back to our new home. We spent 2 days in Illinois.

Sheri, we need certified copies to prove who we are...b/c you know showing them the VALI D Illinois drivers license is not good enough. I told Rod we were taking our marriage license to prove why I have a different last name now....SMDH !

That was my spell checker when I typed NC without capitals It was meant to say 'your NC address'.

It rained all day and night...it is needed but I am glad to see some sun for the weekend. I hope the roofer can start as soon as possible...he said he had one roof to finish by the weekend then mine is next.

Tina is here. I've been sick but getting better. Now if I can stay on my feet. I've been falling a bit. Kind of slow motion with no bumps or bruises but odd still.

Gosh Tina. Have you had head congestion? Did it settle in your ears causing you to be unsteady?

I live in NC about 3 hours from Myrtle Beach. Almost a straight shot. Now we're supposed to get a lot of rain but not horrible winds. Anything can happen but we usually don't have water standing in our yard but then again we've never had 20 inches of rain in a short amount of rain so......

My BP is good. I have a monitor. My nose/ears are clear. I didn't eat much or well for a few days. I'm chalking it up to that. I am trying to do better about that. I'll get well in the end.

GB had his mom call this morning to tell me that he needed to come to my house after 'tay-care'...he needed to take a day off tomorrow I'll go pick him up later, everyone needs a day off now and then....even from day care.

Rod is going home tomorrow..I get to stay here and baby sit an extra day.

Mom is currently in a facility to do her rehab. I guess for strengthening...

We got our Missouri license today. It was a painless procedure. Now to get the cars taken care of....

Junie when my sister moved from VA to Indiana she had to produce a bunch of stuff to have her license changed. Glad you're mother is in rehab.

Sunny no we're not in an evacuation zone. I think Florence has actually changed directions a little bit and we may only get some rain. It's changed directions several times so only God knows what will happen in the end. Shelley's gang has been out of school this afternoon and tomorrow. Darbi is being evacuated from college now. That just changed today.

I'm here and everything is ok. It's 7:30 PM on Friday. We've had wind since I got up this morning and it was dark all day. It started raining around 4PM but it's not raining bad. Would be lovely if this is it but the weatherman says "it's coming." Wish he'd stop saying that.

On another note; my gang neighbors who have a fire going all the time (I've reported them to environmental services more than once) set their backyard on fire today. I mean the wind was blowing 35 miles an hours and they still had a blazing fire. Someone driving down the road noticed it and called 911. I didn't know anything was going on until I heard the siren from the firetruck and went outside. This won't stop them. They have a fire every single day.
