i repotted my root bound pine and the potting soil has become as dry as stone. I used a bag of this soil and no problems anywhere else. Does anyone know why and should i repot?

Did you mix any organics (peat, comost, whatever) into the potting soil? This helps it retain moisture better and gives the plants a little something to feed on for a while.
