Thanks for her. She is the one that is the Nurse Practitoner. She wanted her PHD so she could teach. But now she teaches and practices in a Peditricians office one day a week so she can take care of the family. She gets to call herself "Dr." But she is not an MD.
I have a lot of food prep to do today...

Taking a break. Strawberry Pie made..Spice Cake made...deviled eggs made, meat thawed and dishes washed. I have to make the frosting yet ( peanut butter ) assemble the potatoes, fix the corn on the cob, off or the cob, and make some Mac & cheese for the kids. And oh, btw..I need a bigger kitchen..js.

Wish you both ( and your fami!ies) could have come. It was all good. Rod made pork steaks on the grill. Val cleaned up the food, and when they left, I hand washed some dishes and put the rest in the dishwasher. I should be asleep.

I just got in from double hand digging my garden...I must be crazy not to have a tiller. The older I get, the more I see I'll have to give in and get one. Tomorrow I will rake the clumps and make my drills. I can plant my potatoes the first week of June

Yes, may you have a fabulous crop. I do miss having a nice Garden. I have not had a real nice one since the farm. My dad would bring over his large tiller, and either he or my DH would till my garden.

Thanks  DH says maybe next year we could try get one....even if it's second hand. He wants us to till a piece in the field and grow our years supply of potatoes.

Oops, I am sorry. My brother's baby girl, Lauren, is getting married in September. She is 24 or 25, and is a CPA.
Her Bridal shower is June 9 th,
I do not get to go as Valarie would be my way there, and she will be on a plane the 9 th to go off seeing her friend from high school who lives in Florida. But I still want to get her a gift. After her, the only Grandchild left unmarried is Brandon...My Brother's son.
Going to sleep now...nite- nite.

Yes, it does take a village. Remember, her needing a village is why we moved here.
She is also going to see Emily in July...she left-handed!y offered to take me, and while I would love to see Emily and the kids, I am going to offer to take the kids..perhaps she can fly then. If you add up the hotel room and food for a 2 day trip, I think if she shops around, she can find a ticket for the same money.

I have red Pontiac and Gold rush russets this year....and GG said I have 62 to plant . I also leave them scab over for three days. It is raining this morning.

3 days...welll, clearly I was wrong.. I usually did around 24 hours. I guess I got lucky with them. Home grown potatoes are the best.. .I miss them dearly.

You can do 24 hrs Junie for cut potatoes...I just do 3 days to be triple sure. I hope for a bumper crop as well Tina, thanks. I cleaned DH's shed today....just to have him put it all back in and where I moved it from, I give up.

That about your DH makes me laugh. You are still better than I am.I would never clean out his shed. Besides, he is prone to throw it out on Monday only to need whatever it was on Friday....
