Welcome all.

We went to the festival with another farmer (we are looking after his horse because of his health at the moment), it was fun until the thunderstorm hit. We were pelted with golf ball size hail. I am so thankful that we didn't take our own vehicle....I am sure there are going to be many damage insurance claims from the area there.

Going to pick up GB today.

I think this thread is supposed to be # 2575...but I cannot change it..so in well, this works!

It's to quiet at my house now, DD and her hubby came and got the boys... went home Fri, poor Nicoli hurt his ankle while we were at my BIL's, tried to run on the gravel to get his dad to watch him hit golf balls and twisted it badly, we took him to ER but xray couldn't show a break, they wrapped it and told them to have it xrayed
again when they got home, it was okay to travel as long as he kept it up... they wanted to go to Kartcher Caverns the next day so we got out my wheel chair and took him... his Dad pushed him in it and they were very nice to him. They took him to specialist when they got home Sat. and it's a bad sprain, has to use the crutches for 3 weeks but should be fine. Really glad he waited till his folks were here to do it, we had his med cards but they can be picky in hospitals about doing things for minors even with notes from parents..

Well have a few things left to clean up, mop a floor or two.. did the bedding yesterday... finally got my bills done and paid today... now after floors are done should be good to go for a while now...

Yes very happy his parents were there.. I am sure that made a world of difference.

Today I made up the pages for this year's Christmas shopping. I need to keep track so I do not make the same purchases again and again. Plus if I have a record, I know when I am done shopping for each person.

Good morning. What kind of day is national underwear day? what is done to celebrate it? Giving your underwear the day off?
I'll have a little apple pie instead.

LOL...I say let's give our underwear the day off...I guess if we wear shorts of slacks who will know...but in all seriousness you do ask a good question.

Well, it seems like an odd thing. It's also work like a dog day. I don't want to work like a dog. Now nap like a dog sounds much more interesting.

Yes it sure does seem like an odd thing. But then if TPTB have to come up with something for every day of the year it might get hard to come up with 365..or 366 logical things every yesr.

I was going to take a nap ( does sound like a good idea) but then I remembered I needed to go to the grocery and pharmacy and there will be road work to deal with tomorrow, so no rest for Carol today.

There now the thread is all better...

The calendar I look at has several things for every day. today it's three things. other than the underwear thing and working like a dog, it is also national oyster day. I can get into eating oysters. And love their pearls. That doesn't include international days. There is a whole world out there and when the news gets crazy, it is nice to retreat to something nicer.
It gives me something to talk about besides laundry or dishes.

Well you are right about that..it is something much more pleasant to talk about.

No, but the site I visit keeps wanting to sell me one.

LOL. Yea, if we bought everything that the world wanted us to buy....we would be poor and we would all need to add storerooms to our houses.....

I'm preserving pickles today

Not pickles! it is national root beer float day. I can't combine that with pickles.

Sure you can, Tina. Eat the pickles with lunch and then have the float for dessert.

PB&J was lunch. No pickles. I don't go out of my way to eat pickles. I don't avoid them on a sandwich but don't seek them out.

Well OK then. And actually I have no pickles in my house now either...

There is always pickles here. Jonni loves them. So I keep them around for her.

We have to get up very early tomorrow. Rod is going for Krispy creme donuts and the kids will be here at 7 am. He thinks he needs to get up at 5:30....I think it will take him like 20 minutes to get to the store...I bet he has his eaten by 7 am....

I hope there's some donuts left for the kids.

We are celebrating GG's 9th B-day today....it's really tomorrow but she wanted her mom to take her swimming at the pool in town and that is open today. So while she and her mom and GB are at the pool, I'll pick up the cake and food then we'll head back here for the day.

We put 2 donuts in a Tupperware container for Valarie, Rod are 2 and I had one. There are 7 left...These were still warm when Rod got them.

I am more a donut for dessert person.

Me too, Tina, but I will take them when I can get them.

Pickles are a staple in our house. All of us eat pickles. I can"t remember the last time I had a donut. I"m a cookie eater.

I had another donut at dinner. They are all gone now.
