You wouldn't like my lawn...at the moment it is more dandelions than grass. haha ....I should look into making some dandelion jelly, I heard it was delicious. You steep the yellow petals and make the jelly from the tea.

If you go and pick the younger green parts of dandelions,( the whole plant..a bit of the root included..adds some crunch) they make a wonderful salad. A vinegar and oil dressing with a chopped up egg in it. Dad would take the salad bowl out to get them in to make sure he got enough. Wash them well, And.put in a cotton dish towel and shake around outside to get out the water. Now I am hungry for that as a salad.

Young dandy greens are good but it's to late in the season here to get young ones. The greens have definitely gone bitter beyond any taste.

Yes, you are right, Tina...I was just out getting some and yes they are far too tough already...I may add a few to our salad just for contrast anyway. I have just realized that Dad would go out and get what he called chicory from the yard....I always thought he was just calling dandelions chicory..but apparently not. They are actually 2 different plants of the same family..both edible..

They have moved outside but in a dog kennel we borrowed from a farmer's wife....they have an upside down Rubbermaid container as a 'house' at the moment in the kennel. I am not expanding the coop until I know if they are hens or roosters, they say you find out in their 6th week which is next week.

My lawn needs to be mowed....the weeds are taller than the flowers in the flower beds lol

The way of the weeds. They will take over the earth and then burn down.

My weeds are that big Junie, I have dandelions over a foot tall but I do not want to mow them until the other flowers have started to bloom....the bees need the food.

It will be a clean and mop day here....followed by outdoor work later in the day.

Our cow had a baby through the night, we are now the proud owners of a bouncing baby bull. lol

I am sure the bees will thank you, Sunny.I

Yay for a new baby bull. You will either have beef or you can sell him later.

Drinking coffee here. Trying it w/o sugar..I prefer the sugar.

My bathroom fan gave out completely....my repair didn't last. Now to search online to find one that will fit exactly in the same cut out.

We use a lot of sugar also. Jonni in particular. But it has not been hard to get beyond the first couple of weeks of food supply disruptions, unlike toilet paper that disappears as fast as they get it in. I am interested in the supply. mostly.

We haven't had much disruption in our toilet paper supply since the factory is in our province but the prices have doubled in price at the least....with no reason for it.

Ok the sugar thing..I have a lot if it.. I made sure I had plenty thanks to Tina.
BUT...I am on a statin..and I have researched this extensively..it seems every statin with the exception of prevastatin will drive up your blood sugar (A1C)..I felt fine..until I was put on metformin...then I was still ok until I had the dosage upped...now once in awhile..and there is no rhyme or reason to it, in the mornings I do not feel "right"..and also not all mornings..there is no rhyme or pattern to that either..so I thought I would see if not using sweetener in my coffee might help (?)..I have read that a body cannot tell the difference between real sugar and sweetner.....????

I like dandelions. I've never eaten any but I think they're pretty in yards. How can such a pretty flower be called a weed?

So Junie you're laying off the sugar for medical reasons. The only thing I use sugar for is hummingbird food.

We had a gorgeous day here. 75°. I can live with that.

I use sugar for that as well..my DH loves sweets...they even call his name...even when he is sound asleep.
Well I guess that I will use the simple version, Sheri. Yes, it is to see if I can figure out what my body is not liking. BUT then it could be my reaction to other things. I am also on a lot of Vitamin D...could be that too..my calcium levels are up...way up..as well..

I am thinking I will mow the lawn today then plant my potatoes this evening after supper, they are callousing over.

GG is anxiously waiting to put in her garden but we are still getting frost. I'll make the trenches for the potatoes and she'll put them in....I hope it keeps her from tormenting everyday to put in the seedlings. lol

Sunny, I was never able to find any certified seed potatoes and the ones from the store must be treated because they never sprouted. Guess I waiting to long to decide to plant them. You're having frost and I've got squash on the vine. Even the okra is up.

Junie has your doctor mentioned parathyroid disease?

About asking the Dr. About it now.

Sorry for the lack of seed potatoes, Sheri.
