Sheri..The main reason that I cannot sleep is that when the kids were growing up, I did mist of my scrubbing and such late at night, so I would not be interrupted......and then it became a habit.. I do the largest part of my physical work at home here after Rod and has gone to sleep....so I begin after 8:30 or so. As I age it does not serve me well to get all busy and then expect to be able to go to sleep after several hours of work one would do during the day. Not complaining, just explaining.

I remember 18 year old Tangela calling from home while I was at work to tell me she wanted to mop the kitchen. I was thrilled and began telling her where the gear was. She said she had that but she didn't know how to use it. I realized I had always done it at night or when she was gone to school. She'd never seen me do it. Funny memories.

We are going for our tree today, we aren't able to cut our own anymore but the place that has them has a parking lot set up like a forest. You pay for a ticket(a tree) then you get 5 minutes to walk around to pick one out. I am so glad that they came up with a good way to social distance to at least get some fun in the process. Then we'll take the kids to a drive thru bakery for a special treat.
My mother used to do all her cleaning at night, my father worked the night shift. I certainly learned the way of it all though at my grandmother's, she never stopped all day with her brood of kids, grandkids still living there back and forth.

Good morning. I think we learned a lot from our grandmothers if we had them. There is so much more I'd like to learn now that they are all gone.

You are SO right, Tina. I so wish I could ask my grandmother and for that matter my MIL many things yet today. I used to call her with what I termed stupid Daughter-in-law questions. She taught me a lot. It was free to call her and it cost money to call my mom. So most of the times I called her. Emily still texts me with questions. It is nice to get those questions. Makes me smile.
Have fun at the tree p!ace, Sunny. You get a treat too, right ???

5 minutes to find a tree. I don't know that I could do that. Ginger took the first one she saw and it's beautiful. Shelley bought the first wedding dress she tried on. Obviously they don't take after me. I didn't know either of my grandmothers but I did learn a lot from my mother and mil. Ginger called me last week to ask how long to microwave a potato for a baked potato. It made me laugh because she cooks all sorts of exotic dishes and uses all sorts of spices but had a question about a plain potato. It's noon and I've been pretty much worthless this morning. Gotta get going.

Sheri, Hi !!
You should have told her what my mom always to!d us kids. " you cook it 'til it's done "!!.
We 3 still laugh at her about that !
5 minutes to pick out a tree..I agree, that is not very long. But I will say, when we were kids, there was only about 10 or 15 to pick from so it did not take long. Mind you?, mom did the picking and we kids were just happy to have a tree. If there was a ugly part, it was put to the back so we would not notice it.

Finally got motivated, went to the grocery store, library, filled up my car with gas, fried chicken, made a salad, baked potatoes, AND a pumpkin pie. So good. Now to get motivated to clean the kitchen.

I'll be over in a few, Sheri, I love fried chicken. And oh, you need to save me some pie as well! Now I feel like a slacker. We had burgers, tater tots and green beans.

We got our tree. The kids argued about the first tree they seen but it was 12 ft so I had to explain that it was too big. They had the 12-14 ft ones in the front parking lot, 10-12's in the middle and the 8-10's in the back, 6-8's on one side and the 4-6's on the other. They made it easy for the adults but kids want the biggest one they see 5 minutes wasn't long but it was so nice not to have to worry about distancing oneself or the kids from others. We wore masks and walked around freely for those 5 minutes. Then we got cookies, donut bites, muffins and milk and cappuccino from the bakey....it was a fun trip, with a little bit of normal.

Good morning ! Well, Sunny..even kids arguing is a bit of normal. So happy the trees were divided by size. That did make it a lot easier to accomplish in the allocated time, I am sure. Sorry they began with the larger trees. So is the tree decorated yet ???

Pics are here. Yes, they put the biggest trees in the front to make it easier to carry them to the vehicles.....I am sure there were a few kids wanting the ones they could not have.

Thanks all, they sure had fun decorating....and I only had to move a few around because they couldn't reach the very top. My mild weather and green grass has gone through the night, we are in the middle of a Nor'Easter at the moment......it is horrid out there. The power has already flickered twice. Oh well, when it is done....outdoors will certainly look like a Christmas card tomorrow.

Junie, There will be a new set in the horizon if I find a good deal on Kijiji/resell site...the old style kind that has high back, good chairs. These new table sets are just thrown together(as seems to be all furniture these days). I even used Gorilla glue/screws on them and still, it seems that the pegs aren't even long enough to fit into the holes that were made for the legs.
My leg is aching today.
It is still snowing, what a storm. The bus's are running an hour late this morning because of the roads.

Good morning ! Sadly, I have been up for an hour. It is going to be a long day. Yay for new, sturdy table & chair set. I wish you luck. Be patient, THE set will show itself, even if you have to wait until spring. I have found when people are moving they tend to sell the nicest things just to avoid moving them.I Today is order groceries day....Yesterday I ordered non perishables to be delivered to the house. Now today it is food ordering.

I'll be patient...and yes, I can see many going for sale in the new year if people bought new for Christmas. It is 10 am and every school bus is either in a ditch or stuck in a drift...and they still called leaving a message to be patient and wait for a bus because schools were still open. Who'd send a kid to school in this weather????

Good afternoon. I've been hung up getting a computer thing fixed this morning. Not general computer but problems with one site I use. It's pretty much fixed now. I'm thinking I wouldn't send my kids on a bus either, Sunny. Not in those conditions.
