It is supposed to rain all day. It has not started yet.

We are getting a bit of a drizzle today as well, just wet enough to keep me from being outside.

Sorry to say the hummingbirds were definitely dead. Very strange. Not near the feeders but laying side by side. Can not figure it out.

Did something really dumb today. Drove 30 miles in the pouring rain to get new glasses made and left my prescription laying on the table at home.

That's not dumb...that is 'normal' in my world at times. I do hope you got your glasses in the end though.

Still working at drywall repairs today, I have concluded that I am too picky when it comes to my own work.

I have long thought that was the case.

To help you out, when we first moved here, our grandson pulled open the front door too had and we had a small hole in the wall to repair. The repair went well, but not to painting of said repair. The previous owners left us several different gallons/quarts of paint, but sadly none or the color we needed. Rod tried to blend a bit of a few and while the result was not a perfect match, it was close. Point is, you can see the paint in that area is different, but no-one has asked us what happened. So perhaps you are being too hard on yourself.

See. I would have repainted the whole wall or it would drive me nuts. Then I'd tell myself, "well, may as well paint the whole room".

Yea well we would like the room painted. We both dislike brown. But the dining room area and the living room area are both all together. Plus there are vaulted ceilings in here. We can't do the painting and to hire it done would cost a fortune. Sad thing is the area is too low to hang a photo over it. So there it is to be seen my whomever comes in.

Speaking of painting we were getting ready to paint the inside of our house when Johnny died. I had picked out paint colors. I was thinking about it today actually and might get started on it.

My MIL hired her painting done. The lady that did it was quick, efficient, and tidy. Plus To my notion she was very reasonable. You might check around with friends and see if you could find someone that you would be happy with hiring. Well unless you like painting.

That is the problem here, I was the lady that your MIL hired (for my area). ~I have not painted for other people since GG was born. Well, I finally got my ceiling repaired to my liking. This week I will give the whole ceiling two fresh coats of paint then I can start the major clean up. It is time for the 'washing of the walls' anyway.

It is calling for a whole week of rain starting tomorrow. The only good thing about that is that it will certainly melt all of our snow.

Yay for melting snow. A lot of rain is not necessarily a good thing, but hey the "loss" of snow sure is.

I can paint most of the house myself. The stairwell is another story and will need to hire it out probably. Ginger and I have painted more than one of her houses ourselves.

Junie, I planted red sunflowers before but they turned out to be a rusty orange color. I bought a pack of the 'original, old time' ones for this year.

Yes, as I recall I have bought what was supposed to be blue flowers in the past, and they were anything but blue. I guess that happens.

I still have not painted my ceiling. I fixed the drywall and primed the repair, put the paint cans on the table.....and did nothing else.

We have our water turned off. It will be off for 2 or so hours. Then we will have a boil order on for 24 hours. Wish I knew why.

Nope not really. They turned the school down the street's water back on shortly after it was turned off. Ours was off from 11 am until 3:30. I still have no idea what was going on.

The sun is shining, the snow is melting and I am going out to rake later.

Yay for melting snow. 61*F but overcast, chilly, and drizzling here.
I have a notion it is going to be like this until we wake up one day to 80 degree temps or above. SMH
