We are to have some fallish weather this next week with the evening temps to be in the high 50's and 60's.
What ever happened to the seasons changing slowly ? I remember going to school in the morning and needing a sweater, then coming home after school and not needing it.

Isn't that the truth...?? I feel the same way (about what comes after fall) and while mine is not as severe as yours, I do not care for mine either.

If it wasn't for the fact that I like to garden, I'd want Fall for 12 months of the year.

There are bad thunderstorms in our province, luckily they are just skimming underneath us....power has been out for some since last night.

If I could have fall year round, I would be willing to grow what fair weather crops that I could.

Good night every one.

We’ve had some stormy weather. I’ve got a tree blown over in the yard and a person working on cleaning it up while I’m at Ginger’s for the rest of the month. I got to MS Thursday, went straight from the airport to Colt’s football game, Friday morning was grandparents day, from there we drove 3 hours to the varsity football game, spent the night and got up yesterday morning to drive 1-1/2 hour back toward home to Colt’s baseball tournament - got back to Ginger’s last night around 8. I’ve been here less than a week and I’m exhausted.

Today I’m sitting on the screened porch watching the hummingbirds and butterflies enjoy the lantana.

Glad you were doing fun stuff while you were so busy. Busy is always better than bored after all. Sorry for the downed tree. Glad you found someone to get it cleaned up for you.

Hummingbirds, that is wonderful.
They are so restful.

Good to hear that you are at your DD's Bestofour, enjoy your trip...sorry about the tree damage.

Raining today. I got the grass cut last night, I cut it on the highest setting this time of year...one never knows when it will be the last cut of the season with the frost. I also made mustard cauliflower pickles yesterday with the last of my cukes, it broke my heart to pull the plants out of the garden last night as well....all good things must come to an end, at least I got enough to make all my preserves.

Today is a clean and mop day.

Laundry. A never ending battle isn't it? I have never used my dryer in the Summer as much as I have this year.

Today is a baking day, it is supposed to be nice this afternoon though. I might get some weeding done in my flower beds if it is.

Weeding. I need to finish weeding the rock edging in the front. I do an area then wait for Rod to mulch up the pulled grass when he cuts grass. In the next few days I need to finish the edging so he can mulch that grass when he cuts grass next time.

Good morning.

Oh, I love it. Thank you for sharing ! It is so wonderful !

I have one something like that except yours is much fancier. You have a gathered waist area, and if I saw correctly, pockets at the bottom. Very pretty indeed.

The top corners are folded down in the top corner and tacked with a button then the bottom is folded up and sewed to have three pockets. The front is also gathered with stretchy elastic. If I can find such jumbo sized tea towels, I will be making some more. I just like the feel of it since it is so light weight.

I probably could, great idea.

We are getting warnings for Hurricane Lee, they say it will be a cyclone when it hits us late Friday. Guess I better get gas for the generator.

We'll be fine but thank you. kissie I will get added supplies later today just in case.

GG has joined soccer so I will get what I need when I pick her up at Supper time at school, first practice is today. They got so many donations of sporting equipment that we do not need to buy anything, I am glad of that.

Yup, mostly second hand but it is still new. The kids use it for a few months than either grow out of it or drop out. It stays at the school to be used year to year, they had soccer cleat shoes without even a scuff on them. The school provides the uniform free of charge as well.

I am prepared as well as I can be for the hurricane with gas, propane and water....it is supposed to hit us Saturday night, I am going to try to get my red potatoes out of the ground as well today...they have 'died' last week, the others still have green in their stalks. The heavy rains might decay the red ones.

It is good that you are prepared for the hurricane. That must be reassuring. I hope your potatoes are ok. I am down to about 5 pounds left of mine. I think I may try to plant a bit more next year. I think I have a potato bag, may as well try using it too.

That is really nice about the game equipment. My kids got uniforms from the school, and I guess cheerleading outfits as well, but the parents got to buy all the other personal equipment, thankfully the balls & bases, etc. were provided.

LOL. I did end up cleaning up some dog hair, as much as I tried not to. That and supper was all that I did really did to the house yesterday. Today I need to hand wash some dishes, make out some more paperwork for the School the kids go to, so they will allow me to pick them up when needed, then after making a list of things to pack for next month, I need to begin to clean out my storeroom and organize my Christmas gifts, and record them in my book....I have already bought a few. The storeroom thing may take several days. rolz

Yea, I am not worried about being caught up by the rush.
Same here.

The sun is supposed to shine and the grass is twice as long as it should be for this time of year, I may as well try tackle it later at some point. It is calling for our first heavy frost for tomorrow morning...I'll tarp my peppers and tomatoes tonight.
