I think we got the 'storm of the Winter', and it is still snowing.....these are the days when I wish I loved further South.

I don't know about that, Sunny.
We moved further south, and that is not all it is cracked up to be. We don't have so much of the snow and such here, but when there is bad weather it it is usually accompanied by ice. I could do without that.

I covered a few things for the freezing weather the other night and so far so good. Junie, I'm sorry about your magnolias because they smell so good. I love using the big leaves in decorations. If you spray paint them they stay fresh looking for months. I use them a lot.

I love planting and digging up potatoes but I'm not planting any this year or maybe ever. I just don't eat enough of them to make it worth my while. I can buy them at the farmers market.

I have got my squash bales ready and squash seeds planted in cups in the little green house, and I've got the cucumber bed turned over and seeds also planted in the green house. Still need to clean out the raised beds for tomatoes and okra. That's all I'll plant.

I'd planned to work outside this afternoon but it's cold and windy so not gonna do it.

Bestofour, Can I come live with you?

I have to go shovel the roof on the house and shed in a few minutes. Am I allowed to complain about how I am so sick of Winter?

Sheri, I too love to plant potatoes. Here I just end up with 10 pounds or so, but they do taste good, so I am happy to do it.

Sunny, yes, comp!ain away ! I too am tired of winter. And if I lived where you do, I would be tired if it the day it first came in.

I can't wait to plant potatoes. We plant them the last week of May here....freezing rain for tonight.

I have no idea of the planting date where I live at now. Back home we planted them March 17...well when it was warm enough...but there I had even planted in early May and they made.

I guess I will plant here as soon as I find some seed potatoes.

Raining and cold here the next 2 days. It's hard staying in this house by myself so many days in a row.

Bestofour, I would never leave my house if I could...if they had food delivery here, it might work.

Junie, I found this pic and I know you love frogs, so....

I'd rather be home to Sunny but being alone too much makes a person crazy especially when it's too cold or rainy to go outside.

Two days of heavy rain for us, hopefully it starts to melt that snow.

Yay for rain instead of snow or ice. We got 1-1/2 inches of rain night before last, which was good..we needed it.

It snows, then rains then snows again. I can't wait for nicer weather....and to get in my garden.

I can imagine...I hope the planting weather comes sooner rather than later for you...and for me too for that matter.

I've been at St. Simons Island, Ga. I love that place and the weather was beautiful.

The cucumber seeds I planted a few weeks ago aren't coming up. Only one has germinated. They're new seeds!!!

Glad you had a good time. That is always a good thing. I am so sorry about the seeds. Do you have time to plant more ?

I do have time to plant more and that's what I'll do and hope they'll work.

Perhaps this time buy your seeds from another place or brand

It is a hit or miss with seeds. I hope the next ones germinate.

They are calling for another bad storm in the next day or two, Winter just seems to linger.

Yes about the weather. "They" say we are not done with our cold yet...and given we have had temps as high as 78*F a few times, you have to wonder what Mother Nature is thinking.

It was 80 here today. I'm gonna try and post some pictures. My yard is glorious.

Here we were in the 70's today. However tonight it is in the low 40's and in a week or so "they" say we will be back in freezing temps. Gracious !!

I will be looking forward to Photos Sheri !!,

It was a chore. I think Walmart also changes the items around in the grocery department. I had quite the time finding the items on my list.

Rod said I was in there 1 hour and 45 minutes. That is not so bad, is it ?

Well, I go to Walmart once a month so it takes me a couple of hours as well. DH knows this ahead of time if he decides to tag along.

I had the first calf of the season born this morning.

School is cancelled again today, it is STORMING...jeepers, you'd think we were in January with this weather.

Thanks Junie, the calf is all snuggled in warm and dry in the barn...he is a big one. I have another due in the week ahead, 6 in total if we have any luck this year.

I also hope that your weather straightens up soon. Has it not realized that it is April, and you need to get outside ?

The snow is so heavy that all the pine trees look like palm trees. I should not laugh, our power was off and on all day yesterday...with many without since then. There is a lot of tree damage.

I am so sorry for all the snow. I would at least hope that this time of year it would not last as long as it might in the middle of winter.

Today is muffin making day.

No snow here but the wind is making it too difficult to work outside.

How is the gardening going Bestofour?

We are in the 'full view' of the eclipse today but we will not be 'viewing' it. I have no desire to take a chance on our eyesight with those eclipse glasses. They gave them out at school, they better be prepared for law suits if they do not work.

We have 2 different types of glasses here, and they have the approved numbers on them, so we are ok.

My daughter is taking her kids to school with her to a school viewing party. That way she can make sure that they are wearing the glasses.
