Thankfully where Ginger lives hasn't had a tornado but a lot of rain and wind. The devastation is awful.

We had another Tornado watch, and Thunderstorm warnings tonight. I have lived here for just shy of 7 years, and we have never had this much bad weather in such a short period of time. This string of bad weather began around the middle of March. Crazy really.

Really glad to hear that Ginger has not had to go thru this bad weather.

I'm going to Ginger's Tuesday. Hope it's all over by then. My farmers market opened for the season today. I didn't go because I don't need anything and I don't think tomatoes or cucumbers are ready yet. I haven't planted anything this year and don't plan on it.

I am down to planting 2---6 ft. raised beds. (if I had of known 8 ft beds were sold, I would have gotten them instead).
I alternate them each year. With tomatoes in one and potatoes, lettuce, onions and sometimes radishes in the other
I then have very large flower pots that I plant herbs in. Definitely a smaller crop then I grew at "home".

Have fun at Ginger's !!!

Enjoy your trip to Gingers, stay safe.

We got another foot of snow between yesterday and today. touched

April showers brings May flowers...but where I live April snow brings May mud. lol

Time to ask for another garden bed, Junie.

Yes, I will not get another garden bed. But that is ok... I may put more pavers down and put my large pots on it so the pots can get full sun.

I know all about mud..we have had over 10 inches of rain fall since Monday...and we have plenty of mud..( thanks to the trails that our dog has made in the back.)

Sorry about the snow, Sunny. Don't despair, spring is coming, I promise.

Yes Sunny don't despair. Our spring will be over and done and your flowers will be beautiful.

Gardening is a LOT of work, as you two know, when there's no one to eat the produce. I love cucumbers but I can buy them cheap at the farmers market and not have to worry about the dry weather and bugs.

Sunny, Sheri is so right about spring and flowers.

Yes, about gardening, Sheri. Honestly that is why Zi get by with so little. There are 2 farmers markets here that should open in May sometime, but the parking is horrendous. A fresh veggies is not worth a wrecked car.

Our farmers market has more knitted items and 'healing stones' then food. I know it is a hobby for many but the amount of tables there with those items make it not worth while to go. I go once in the late Summer for some fresh honey but that is it.

The sun is shining and more snow for tonight. I did get some garden seeds yesterday though...if planning counts as gardening, then I have started. lol

Yes, IMO planning starts ! So YAY for you.

There are a lot of veggies and handmade items at our farmers markets, but as I have said, the parking is terrible , and the prices are high, as well. I rarely go to mine. I miss the small one we had in the next town back home. We had local people selling there, and I think they found it hard to hike prices when selling to friends and neighbors so bargains were there to be found. And very fresh offerings as well.

I too have begun " buying" stuff for my raised beds.

It has snowed over a foot and still snowing, wet heavy snow..we keep losing power off and on. My ornamental apple tree has large branches broken right off, what a mess.

So sorry for the snow...but especially sorry about your ornamental tree. They are beautiful after all. I hope some of it is salvageable.

Good morning. I have the kids here for a few hours this morning. Their momma has to supervise some of the school kids while they box up Easter boxes of food at a local food bank.
