We don't have pecans here, we have wild hazelnuts.

It is cooler, we have frost every morning now.

I cut down my ornamental crabapple tree in the front yard, no wonder limbs broke off work the snow. The middle of the main trunk was so decayed....and full of creepy crawlies.

Our weather has been so lovely. My pansies are lovely and I'm going to get a few more to put in a pot.

Sunny was it carpenter ants in your tree. That happened to us once. The tree looked perfectly healthy but the inside was full of big, black carpenter ants. Gross.

So happy for your wonderful weather.
Saturday we are to get heavy storms and then I heard the weather will be back in the 70's. This is surely a strange year.

No Bestofour, the tree was full of skinny, white worms...they were fuzzy and disgusting looking.

I seen my first Christmas commercial.....too soon for my liking.

I LOVE the Christmas season. And the earlier I start the easier the cost is
Not to mention I have more time to find the items I need/want.

Yuck, skinny white worms...

Junie, our news station stated a massive egg recall for Missouri. Eggs were from 'Black Sheep Egg Farm'.

Good evening. I spent most of the day piling wood in rows behind my shed. Tomorrow I will finish it up and next year's heat will be prepped for Winter 2026.

A few more local people have had their wells go dry...it is scary. They want over $15,000 to dig a new well now.....they have to go so deep.

Hoping the rain soaks your area Junie, then heads our way. They say rain is on its way but it seems we can never catch up to it.🌧️

I spent the day catching up on outdoor chores. I am slowly catching up on my Fall to-do list.

We didn't get a storm, so we didn't get much rain. I am not complaining, not really because 6/10 is better than nothing after all.

Our next chance for rain is next Saturday. (I can hope)

Sunny, glad you are getting your fall chores done.

I guess it's feast or famine for all of us.

We are over run by deer this year, this morning two bucks were fighting in my yard. They broke my bird house pole and put the birdhouse in pieces.....I have declared a war.

We've never seen it this bad with deer Junie, I am wondering if there is a drop in the coyote population. Mind you, I think squirrels and rabbits would do more damage than what I'm dealing with.

My flashing envelope is not working on private messages, is yours??

Well after my post last night a storm came through and we got a little bit of rain, not much, but enough to wet the group. Thankful.

I'm having more deer than usual lately too.

Glad you got rain, Sheri. Every little bit helps ! I am glad for you. !

Well, at least I am in town enough to not see deer. But as I said, the squirrels and the rabbits are making up for that piece of luck

Not sure but it was enough to wet everything wet, we still need much more before freeze up though.

I dug up the last of my carrots today, washed and bagged them up.

I hope you get more rain, and that that "more" is what you need.

The only thing left for me to do is tie up a few shrubs. Now on to a few indoor chores (small fix up repairs).

Did anyone have some fun this weekend??

I worked Saturday - my last Saturday because I'm quitting for sure tomorrow. I have 1 more whole day and 2 half days and that's it. I'm not being talked into working more this time.

Went to church yesterday then took a nap.

We're getting a very good rain today and supposed to rain again tomorrow. We need it.

Happy retirement Bestofour. 💝

We have getting a little rain, the biggest rain storm to come will be this weekend...we will get the tail end of hurricane Melissa. Poor Jamaica, I can't imagine the devastation upon them.

Yes, Happy Retirement from me as well, Sheri. Enjoy sleeping in !!!

We got 2-7/10 Monday, it drizzled all day yesterday, and so far today I think we have gotten an inch. It is supposed to rain all day as well. I have all kinds of buckets out to capture rain water for my house plants. Thankfully It is cool on the sun porch so I will be able to safely keep gallon containers of the rain water. If it is too warm algae grows in the jugs and I throw them and the water away.

Today is a wash clothes type of day. I will make burger stroganoff for supper tonight.

Well, it seems Hurricane Melissa will hit us Halloween day, we need the rain but the heavy winds and down pours will keep the trick or treaters home.🙁🎃

The sun is shining today though, it is beautiful today.

Sunny, I know you've mentioned it but I'm old so where is it in Canada you live? Hope you don't get the high winds from Melissa, just a nice rain.

I did send in my resignation and it's been accepted. So I've got one more whole day, 2 half days, and I'm done. I'm not mad at anyone or anything I just don't want the drive anymore or the 12 hour days. Yippee for me.

Over the past few days we've had a little over 2 inches of slow rain. It's been nice because it's been able to soak in. Supposed to stop in the wee hours of tomorrow morning which is nice because I have Bible study and don't like driving in the rain.

Junie that's smart about catching the rain for your houseplants. I don't keep many house plants but I could catch one bucket and it would last a while. Good idea girl. 🎃

Why thank you, Sheri. I DO try...I keep mine in cleaned out milk jugs, with the caps on.

Still raining here... again the slow soaking rain.

Sunny are you getting bad weather? We've got cool but sunny days here.

I didn't go trick or treating. My grand children have outgrown it and It's football Friday night in my area so most people are somewhere at a game.
