Good luck, you could make a small batch than tweak it for next time.

I planted everything today, plants...seeds and all. The full moon is at the end of June this year so my grandfather never gave me advice on that situation.

I found some okra seeds I saved from last year and replanted today. It's interesting to me that not one single seed came up of the ones I planted last month. They were from last year too so we shall see.

Good luck Bestofour, I hope you get to harvest okra this year.

Junie, I have to tackle my eavestrough situation this week for my water jug.

I am trying to bend aluminum strips to make a gutter....I give up until DH can help me tomorrow. I need four hands to get it bent straight.🤔 It frustrates me when I need help with things.

Naw, don't feel that way. IF you need help ask for it. Besides, things could go wrong fast with Aluminum. You want someone else around in case of an accident...you know like a deep cut.
In this case 2 is better than one. kissie

Sunny, what does this mean "eavestrough situation this week for my water jug"

Junie, I made the squash casserole tonight. It's very good. Thank you.

Thank you for telling me about the casserole. When I saw it in my inbox, I thought of you right away. I am glad that you liked it.

Sorry, I have to make a rain gutter to put on the back of the tractor shed ( normal gutters won't fit)so that I can set up a 160 gallon tote that a farmer gave me to hold rainwater.

Yay for collecting rain water. I hope it all works, Sunny.

Sheri I got my round (Parisian) carrot seeds today. In order to plant them in June here I must keep the soil moist for 14-21 days, until they sprout, and use shade cloth while they grow. All that will not happen. Later one can plant these seeds for fall growth but I don't feel comfortable with doing that either. So, I hope they are viable for next spring. For you, look up on the internet what is advised.for your area. That is what I did.

Junie, the online info says to plant spring or fall so I'm not going to try them this year either - very hot already.

Sunny do you have to put a screen or something over your rain barrel to keep mosquitos from laying eggs in it?

I did some pruning today and watering today and sat on the screened porch for a while. I don't have plans for the weekend. How 'bout you guys.

I should have gone outside tonight to water and finish trying to get my potato plants under some type of control.
I guess I am going to go out in the mornings to get my yard work done now. In all of my previous life I always went out at night after supper. I just can't make myself this year.

I have no plans for the weekend. BUT Monday is my Birthday and Rod and I will spend the day going around looking at Antique stores and such. And I will not cook even one meal.
I have rules for my birthday. No cooking is one. My age ?? I will be 12 or is it 21. I don't know. I keep forgetting. why angel

Bestofour, I am going to use a mesh butterfly net that the kids had here as a screen. It's pouring rain today...so I'll check later to see if my 'contraption' works.😆

Junie, you can plant your carrots in a pot in the shade. Just moisten the soil over the carrots, cover with a piece of cardboard for a week. Then lift the cardboard and water normally...you can still plant them now....but the seeds will be good for years.

I mowed the lawn yesterday, I look like I have chicken pox with the fly bites. It was so hot that the mosquitoes hatched. Then today, it is so cold and damp that I had to light the wood stove. The weather is confusing.

Our weather is all strange as well. One day cold, one day hot and then rain to go with it. Oh and occasionally a nice day with cool breezes. Yep, strange to say the least.
I will say I am so sorry for your flies. We have a friend who used to go one guided hunts in Canada ( no I do not know where) and the one thing he complained about was the flies. Ever one where you live has my sympathies.

Oh well, we need something to complain about....the weather is one of them.

Yes, the flies are terrible. They call Canadian mosquitoes 'helicopters'.😂

Yes. Where my sister lives in Illinois was supposed to start raining at 11am today and get worse progressively thru out the day. Here we got a short bout of rain but so far nothing else. I didn't catch the weather report tonight so I am not sure. I guess I will know in time.

Good night all.
