I'm struggling with posting pictures. I think I'll have to put each in a separate post.

When I finally got the caterpillar to post it posted 5 of the same picture. Hopefully this will be a photo showing how close the chrysalis was to the actual butterfly after it hatched. The pictures are out the kitchen window so not clear. Sorry.

In the above picture the chrysalis is inside the window frame above the butterfly.

And this is the beautiful black swallowtail, which I read only lives 14 days.

Beautiful pics. It's a shame to go through all that for only 14 days of beauty.

One of my in person book clubs is tonight. It was a reread for me from several years ago but I really liked it. Eight Perfect Murders.

Yesterday and today are pleasant weatherwise but my area has still not had rain. It's rained east and south of me and I can actually see it from my driveway raining up and down the road but it goes around me.

Did I tell you guys that I got in touch with the company about my kitchen cabinet knobs and they are sending me a replacement box to return to Lowe's? Supposed to be here Thursday. The manager, Brandon, at Lowe's who was supposed to call me back has never called. I plan on asking to see the manager when I take the box back.

I hope you can get your purchase straightened out Bestofour, online shopping is a hit or miss these days. Yes, I'd demand to see the manager as well.

Cold and damp here today, they are calling for frost tomorrow. 😞

yes. I too hope you get your cabinet knobs. I really dislike the online shopping. It seems that online purchases are not right more than not. I loved ordering from a catalog ( back in the day). you got just what was advertised.

VERY hot here today. and I think that heat is to continue for awhile yet. I do not look forward to winter, but some nice fall weather would be appreciated.

I'll send you some cooler weather Junie. It's 37*F here this morning, that's earlier than usual for the frost we had this morning. Thankfully, I caught the forecast and plucked all my tomatoes last night. I have 10 gallons of ripe and unripe ones. 🍅 My mother came for a gallon a few days ago as well.

I miss having Sears, it was expensive but it had great quality.

I miss Sears. I miss Penneys...and there are others.. but oh well . I can order online from Penneys still but I would rather have a catalog to look at.

got my watering and tomato picking done already.and oh, cards out in the mail.

We only ever had Sears to order from. They had the best appliances though, Kenmore brand....they lasted for 20 years or more. I still have my dryer, it's well over 20 years old....knock on wood.😉

I'm going to freeze the tomatoes in bags as they ripen, then maybe this Winter I'll preserve some different variety of sauces to experiment.

This afternoon I have to deep clean our vehicle, then tackle some garden clean up. It's calling for more rain tonight and tomorrow.

when we got married we spent my retirement money from my job to buy a washer/dryer) and fridge from Sears.

The washer and dryer were great. We had trouble with the fridge and so Rid started replacing parts..finally right before we moved here replaced the timer and all was well. The dryer was still working at 25 years when we moved. it stayed.

Rod cleaned the car this morning, so it looks nice when we go to the funeral.

I am letting my foot rest before I get my bath and wash my hair.

Yes, rest your foot. You have been busy the past few days.

I wish I would have known about these new washers, I would have bought two older style ones from Sears and put them in my mother's basement for future years. 😉

I just pulled my onions. I'll braid them after supper and hang them to cure.

My mother and Aunt just came for a visit, they went for a walk yesterday by their house and met a bear so today they walked the opposite way here....and met another one. They are done walking.😂

yes about all appliances. the washer I bought when my Kenmore died (a thing that held the drum in place broke. I am still waiting for the repairman to get the part in and replace it. Anyway, Rod said just go buy a new washer. I loved it it was a
.Maytag with a big drum..you could stop it to soak clothes, and all the things..and yes the clothes were very clean. If I could have afforded it. I would have bought 2. although the one I bought for our new house ( my dad and Rod had a hard time putting the washer and dryer in). so he wanted to leave the ones we got later at the farm were good too.
I think the dryers were better back then as well

I have said I wish I had of bought 2 for a lot of things
oh to go back in time !

Just last month when I redid my kitchen and had to get a new faucet because they measured the countertop wrong, think I told you guys about this, the new faucet (as are all faucets now) does not let the same amount of water flow through it and there's no way to take out the stopper thing like Johnny used to do, so it takes forever to even rinse suds off a dish. It's called a water saver but I don't see how it's saving water when I have to let the water run 3 times longer just to rinse a bit of dish washing suds off anything.

Sunny, it amazes me that your weather is so cool when we're about to scorch to death here.

Jeepers Bestofour, so they even screwed up the faucets now.😞. You should share a pic of your new cabinets when your renovation is finished.

I braided all my onions yesterday and hung them to dry in the shed. It is raining again today, so I guess I'll get my weekly baking done.

The company who did the counter measured the counter 4 inches too wide causing me to have to get a new faucet and they came and measured twice. They didn't have anything to do with the cabinet knobs. I ordered those myself and they really did show up today so I'm taking them back tomorrow and will NEVER order without asking if it's an outside company I'm ordering from. What a mess.

The company should have fixed their mistake without any inconvenience to you, Bestofour.

It is a cool, windy day here. I guess I'll tackle some outdoor chores later. The bumble bees are all huddled together on my sunflowers, its a nice thing to see.

There is always dishes to do it seems, Junie.

We are having a treat today for supper. With the price of ground beef, I don't make tacos very often. I've been craving them all week, damn food commercials.😂

warm outside today...and I put hummingbird food out for the traveling Hummers.

Enjoy the breakfast tomorrow. The tacos were delicious and it makes for an easy meal on busy days.

We are getting three dry days in a row. I am thankful to get caught up on outdoors chores. With all the rain, our lawns look like we are still in July.

We are over run with crickets and grasshoppers though this year. 🦗

Crickets...at the cemetery there were several crickets crawling thru the grass during the graveside services of my daughter's FIL. I do not think I have ever seen that before....

We keep getting rain promised, and if it comes we get like 2/10 inches.

I am watching old "Good Witch" episodes. Of late we usually have Good Witch episodes on Saturday evening/night. I really enjoy watching them.

I'm fighting crickets too. They're eating up my plants. No rain here. Soooo dry and I'm sooo tired of it but not a thing I can do about it. Phooey.

How was the pancake breakfast? I've never heard of Good Witch.

I watched a couple of the Good Witch shows when it started but I'd get sidetracked and miss shows so I gave up. I think there a few movies as well. Bestofour, it was about a widow woman who had magical powers.

Sorry to hear that you are all invaded by crickets and grasshoppers as well.

I'm sending prayers for rain for all of you.

Thank for the prayers, Sunny. I hope it works for Bestofour and me. I do not mind watering, I dislike hauling a 100 ft. Hose all the way over to my raised beds.

Yes, there are movies and then a!so 1 hour episodes. For years they had a Halloween episode and some years another movie, but usually just the Halloween episode. Then for 7 years they made like 10 episodes a season... I love them. They show the movies on Hallmark movies but I usually miss them as no-one has a guide any more showing what is on in advance ( anyone remember the TV Guide?). But I can get all 7 seasons of Good Witch on my TV.We have u tube TV, And I put "Good Witch" in my library. But I am not allowed to record the movies. AND as we pay to get U tube TV we do not subscribe to such as Hallmark + or the others.

It is best to watch the movies (in order by years) then the 7 seasons in order but I guess you would not have to.

I watch YouTube more than cable. Sometimes I get sidetracked with crazy things on there though.🥴

They have the Fall mums out for sale now but they arrive when the frost hits so it is a waste of money. What do you plant in Fall there, Bestofour?

As far as flowers? Mums have already started blooming here and will come back next year. Camellias start blooming here in October. I'll put pansies in the kitchen window boxes and maybe the boxes on the pretend greenhouse in October and they'll look pitiful but will stay all through winter and until the heat of the sun hits them hard in spring or summer. I've had them look pretty good until July but it's usually much earlier.

As far as garden stuff - lettuce, kale, carrots, radishes, green peas, but I'm not planting anything this year - well maybe radishes.

If it doesn't rain I won't be planting anything.

I think the only thing that is safe from bugs here are marigolds...and they are tough to the frost.

It's raining again, I guess Mother Nature never got my memo to share it with both of you.

Enjoy the coffee.

I just got the house back in order after giving it a deep clean and mopping. I dug a few stocks of my potatoes earlier, the new variety La Soda looks very promising, they are a lighter red potato.

We are officially done with this year's hay....and I am glad it is finally done.

Do you guys ever hear from Loz? Wonder what she's up to these days. I've seen on FB that Cindy has had multiple health issues over the last few years. And do you remember Shirley? I think she either lived or moved to Virginia. Gosh the people who used to hang around here.
