Amigatec, I can't believe how much of a difference there is in where we all live. I just finished planting my garden and you're already canning and pickling.
Oh well it's good to read what you have done.
My potatoes have been in for a week and a half, but no show so far. Also did corn, peas, carrots, beets and parsnips. Cabbage broc. cauliflower are still in the green housegrowing. We get pretty late frosts around here so we must be careful with some of the planting.
Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
We had a fairly warm spring this year except for the late freeze that killed a bunch of stuff. It has already hit 85* here, was 81* today. We have had over 4" of rain in the past 30 days. I left the cabbage in as long as I did so they would suck up more water, and they did!!!!! Best tasting cabbage I ever had. I cut the roots off and had juices flowing out of the head. They weren't real tight, but that may by the type I planted, not sure what they were.
If I don't get my spring crops in by Feburary, it gets to hot for them by May. It stays warm enough here I can work the ground just about all year long. I started last fall hauling in cow manure, I found a never ending supply. I normally start in October, and till again in January.
I plan to plant more grean beans where the beets where. I also wanted to try Peanuts this year, so far I have 5 or 6 up. Oklahoma is one of the peanut growing states.
I already have part of my second planting in the ground, I just hope the summer doesn't burn it all up.
One OS to rule them, one OS to find them: One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them in the Land of Redmond where the shadows lie.

Well, my sister-in-law brought me some "milk and honey" lily-like plants she had dug from her yard and I planted thoses. Then, I watered the whole front, except for the big veggie garden. My watermelons are starting to run, and I have baby yellow squash and baby cucumbers. My daylilies are blooming and my gladiolas are starting to.

Tell me about it, I can't plant my veggie garden until the third week of June, we get frost until then.
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
Well I got the peppers in yesterday. And today we are getting a drizzle. Which will hopefully soak into the ground without going into flood stage. That's what it did last year although earlier in the year. It got to 86 degrees friday. I couldn't believe it when I saw that. I'm glad I still have my little romaine sprouts inside.
