hi,

if i cut off a branch from my rubber plant and plant it, will it root and grow into a new plant?

can i grow pothos in water like bamboo?

A couple of months ago, I cut off the top half of my rubber tree and planted the top half with the bottom half.

I'm assuming you're referring to lucky bamboo? Yes a pothos will live in water. Just be sure to change the water about once a week. If you're uprooting a pothos to do this, get as much dirt off the roots as you possibly can. Or you can just start with cuttings. I used to grow one like that. About once a month I'd fill the container with a solution of fertilizer at about 1/10 strength (it has to be very weak), and let it stay in that solution for about a week. I only kept it in water for about a year or so, and then I decided to transplant to soil. My mother has one that she's kept in water for years, though.

BTW, a lucky bamboo is actually a dracaena sanderiana(sp?) It's also called a ribbon plant and can be grown in soil.
