The pink and white ladyslipper is the Minnesota state flower. They are very hard to find here. This yellow one is growing in the woods right by our house. I thought it was neat to have that growing there.
what we call a wild beauty! these grow wild, and are extremely rare to find. consider yourself extremely lucky if you every get to see a live one in the wild. these will set seed but the seeds (like all orchid seeds) are too small to sustain themselves after germination, so they require a special fungus.
Helping the world one seed at a time
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
