lol @ Tamara! It'll do the job! We have a few plastic chairs down there we sit on now to watch the fish but of course they're going....I'll get a long bench butt pillow for on it and it'll be a little better to sit on! thumbup

Those benches can be hard! lol

Mark wanted a swing with a canopy for down there, but there isn't enough room for the A frame of it......So a bench it is! I might start working on the back bed tonight once it cools down!

I think I'll plant sunflowers at the very back, and cosmos and the zinnias in front of them! I can't wait for it all to look lush and vibrant!

Well it's coming along....I planted some portulaca the whole way around the base....and some zinnias in a part of the old pond bed.....I'm just waiting now for the grass to totally die under the fabric/mulch, and for my bench to come in at my local walmart.....I love it!!!!

I can just picture it all finished, it will look so lush and colorful!

Cool, in the mean-time go snap a few pics of Mum's gardens. I am getting curious and I still haven't seen her new patio set grin

I couldn't have got most of this done without Bill kissie.....the bench was bought with his money, and the big grasses, and the pump and filter for my pond!

I'm in no way done with this area yet, and I'm not sure if we're putting pavers under the bench or more mulch!

I just love it!

Very nice Loz.

The nursery across the road has that variagated grass also. Mulch would be nice under the bench and a whole lot cheaper.

kissie to Bill for treating Loz to some new toys.

The grasses look pretty when they are filled in. They are only a couple inches high at the nursery but for $3 somebody will buy them i'm sure.

Here paving stones move and shift with the frost, do you have that trouble where you are? I love mulch. Especially the smell of it (I use cedar)

We use cedar too! thumbup I like it best! Got some today while we were out at Lowes.

Paving stones do okay here I guess, dad made the patio out of them and they seem to be fine.

I paid $13 each for those big grasses......AND today I got more! I got Pampas Grass and something called Blue Eyed Grass, Pink Ice Plant, Pink Fountain Gaura, and some more Petunias.

[Linked Image]Looking VERRRRRRRY nice, loz!

The bench is very nice indeed, and the plants look terrific!

I also have a few of those tall variegated grasses - in other gardens just waiting to be able to be moved to the pond garden. Don is out there as I type - since the crack of dawn this morning, slaving away on it - he's such a perfectionist - every shelf, etc has to be perfectly level - he even waits til the sun goes down so he can use his laser level!!!

I can't wait to see you plant more pretty things around there - you have a great eye for this!

I planted stuff in the back tonight...it looks puny right now but when I get back they'll be nice and bigger and better!

So in the very front closest I have 4 zinnias on each side of the Pampas Grass in the middle.

Behind them are 6 Hollyhocks from my big one having babies. You can't see in this pic, but behind them are Allysum and Portulacas. thumbup

I know! clap It doesn't look like much now, but it will! Especially when the Hollyhocks get super duper tall! And the portulaca all fills in with the Allysum! shots

By the time I get back I'll probably have ripe toms too! thumbup

gardenermom that is her new one! Where the bench is sitting is where the old teeny one was it was about the size of a bathtub. Go all the way back to page one of this thread and you can see a before picture. See all the zinnias blooming around it?

My most fav. area in my yard!

[Linked Image]

The water level was down a bit and I still need to have Mark adjust the one side better so I can level out the water better....he likes one corner lower so if it overflows it all goes out the one side though.

Speaking of the pond I forgot to feed the fishies....better go do that.

Congratulations mama!
Can you sit on the bench and take a picture of the view you see while sitting there? Will that be looking at the mountains you posted a picture of once?
