I know I should know the name of this, but I cant remember. It usually grows in damp places, is about 10 inches tall and it gets a single stem that rises above it with red 'berries' on it in the late summer to fall.

its probably not it but...staghorn fern? though I've never heard of ferms setting berries!

They look like ferns, so I'd figure on them being ferns.

Dunno' . . . maybe you should set aside a spot for them and cultivate them. You might get some nice ferns.
