My sister knows what glory lillys are.Its grown naturally in the Andes.she says its glory of the sun.its blue violet and red bicolored.the plant will put off a garlicy/onion smell on hot days.does not come true from
seed(She don't know know what the
seedlings look like either.I asked.)It blooms April-June and is fragrant.ah asked wrong person.she worked through a pinkish lavendar with green center
flower& her dog ate it& threw up.was some white in center also. Its done blooming now just this week& no one took a picture cause someone ran over the cell phone& some things are not working.
I found that American meadows has some on clearance
http://www.americanmeadows.com/Spri...usGloryoftheSunLilyLeucocoryneAndes.aspxYou'll have to do like my sister.its in a watertub actually but large pot will do shes added perlite to bottom half of it claimes it makes the roots prune theirselves& saves her back.It grows with a TI plant& BOP& a piece of ginger.I think she pulls when nights below 50.The plant seems frost senitive.it will return for me in ground and I'm a
zone 8b.my ground don't really freeze. That is a neat giftI'd like to see yours bloom.Sis got hers as gift from someone when had her hand surgery from her 'rolling bladeing in grass incendent'( so thats A plant from Feb 06)
