What are everybody's plans for Easter? Do you celebrate Easter? Do you stay home, go to family's, etc....?

I personally will be going to my parents for Easter. Tristen gets excited over the Easter baskets and we do an egg hunt if the weather permits.

I miss having little ones in the house searching for the eggs. I'll be cooking the usual Easter ham supper.

Well lets see.....

This year my husband will be in AL and I'll be in KY
my son will be at his in-laws with his brand new baby
my oldest daughter lives in OK
so it'll just be my youngest daughter and my self.

I guess I could hide Easter eggs for her but she is older than 29 and she told me not to bother. Maybe I will anyway. grin

Well we usually have dinner over at my parents house--most of the family. And I'll be having an Easter egg hunt for my niece, and I've already made her a cool basket of goodies! I'll explain to her a little the true meaning of Easter.

I was born on Easter Sunday so sometimes it falls on my BD which is sort of neat.

My step son's birthday is the day before easter, my MIL comes to down that night, and my mom's birthday is the day after easter. So I'll be driving down to her house after work that day to take her out to dinner. Probably will cook a big (late) breakfast for easter sunday. Unless my b/f wants me to cook a turkey. I did so well cooking my first turkey for thanksgiving last year that he had me make another one for christmas. He never asks me to cook ham because I won't eat it. Maybe I'll offer anyway and have some salmon for myself. Yeah, that sounds good. We'll probably do Joey's birthday party sometime during the week after easter, the kids are on spring break all that week.

That's expensive Penny. Well, I've got all the Easter cards, gifts and treats bought. Just have to get a pot of Easter flowers when the store puts them out. DH wants turkey instead of ham also, which is great because I've already got one in the freezer.

Easter's the same as Christmas for me, I got to church and maybe there's a little lunch of some sort, I'm more religious than my mom, so I'll be at church most most of this week after school, and definately on thurs, fri, sat, sun. my parents don't do Easter dinner...whose house can I go to for ham?

kenny, we are lutheran. our church festival days are almost the same, so we used to do church on maundy thursday, good friday, then easter sunday. don't go so much anymore, now that the kids are grown. and if you were closer, i'd cook ham for you :kisy:

since you are there, i'll just have a quiet dinner with matthew and scott and call it a day!

Good Friday is Hot Cross Buns! Wow are they hard to find around here anymore....and usually on Easter Sunday we have Lamb for dinner. That's hard to find too!

I need to find a good church to go back too....I was raised Methodist and I haven't been for a while, but Easter growing up in my house was a big deal---mom would buy us all really nice easter outfits...even with hats and gloves when I was younger....and we never missed all the church services, I miss it.

We have a family dinner. I set the table and everyone gets a little easter basket with little trinkets. Except my daughter.

She is 35 and I still leave a basket at her door late at night so she can feel the easter bunny still comes to her. LOL It is an adult basket. I fill it with electronics and some small clothing things like socks, stockings, slippers her favorite cologne and one Chocolate Easter Bunny.

Hi all,
We will have Easter dinner here at my house, got a couple hams to make- and all the trimmings to go with- will do an egg hunt for the kids - weather permitting- we have rain the next few days- and it is chilly too so that may be inside this year... will have most of the family here - I make little baskets for the kids and get choc bunnies for the grown up ones so they don't raid their kids baskets..

I totally agree, that is so cute Cinta! Mom should do that for me! I only live across the street! lol An adult basket sounds sort of nice. lol

Well Tamara, I'm not much of a baker-- blush

Mom found some, they just made them today so we do have some for tomorrow! She might be interested in the recipe though, I'll ask her!

Sounds like a nice Easter for you all Nana! thumbup

That is soooooo cute.. I love it..

We're havin' a really weird weekend, we have 2 surgeries
coming up *My mom's and my husbands'*
and Monday and Tuesday are preliminaries for them,
And I have to drive them both to each of their destinations,
so no heavy meals the nights before...and no big
meals for me to hussle over, because of all the other
hussling' this week..
Takin' it easy on me... thumbup

We already did our Easter Egg Hunts' at the Churches..
and not doing one here..
The Easter Bunny will come and got some candies and
the boys always get outside toys/games..
This year they got those round plastic mitts, that have velcro on it, and the ball sticks to it when they catch it..
and one that looks like see~thru ping~pong paddles, and
a toss the ring game... and some sidewalk chalk and bubbles,
and stickers, and just some other goodies along the way..

My b/f wanted me to look into Honey Baked Hams. So I looked up their website today and they have an Easter dinner special. One 7lb ham, 4 side dishes, and one dessert. All I have to do is heat and serve. How cool is that! We ordered 2 of those dinners. My b/f is always paranoid of not having enough and having adequate left overs. That's makes my job super easy, especially since I don't know how to cook ham because I don't eat it. He says that their hams are so good that even I might like it.

O.K. I mention DH wanted a turkey but you all have me craving for ham. If I can get to the store tomorrow, I just might buy one and cook both. I love glazed ham, mmmmm maple mustard glazed, delicious.
