Hello, I live in the Twin Cities and this is my first year gardening. I never thought I'd ever be outdoors doing something like this because I'm scared to death of bugs!! However, last year my parents had about 8 giant willow trees chopped and removed from the yard. They began planting, on top of those stumps, lillies, shrubs, various annuals and dinnerplate dahlias. I fell in love with the dahlias and this year I've planted 18 of my own. My poor dahlias have endured everything from slugs to stem rot, not to mention they are on the buffet list of voracious deer in my yard. Fortunately, they've made it through these past 2 months of garden drama and Dahlia Christine showed me the 1st bloom this season on July 1st. I am here to hopefully gain knowledge about better care and planting tips for all my plants as well as discover other interesting plants to add to my garden!

Life can be crazy. Digging in the dirt keeps me sane.

Welcome constantgardener you'll find lots of help and encouragement here.

I've been to many other gardening forums but for some reason I LOVE coming here most of all.
