I am getting more and more disappointed with HGTV's garden shows. I hate the landscape in a day shows they have. I am now watching Public Television more now, their gardening shows are much more informative and interesting. Just a small rant, forgive me.

I watch a lot of public TV gardening shows too ! I agree they are in fact more informative!!
No need to apologize iheart Nothing to forgive! Hgtv does have some good shows but they are far too general in info.

iheartflowers, my exact sentiments. I'm been wondering where the heck garden shows are myself. I think they need to re-name HGTV. I thought I would also email and ask to air more garden shows. I sure to miss them, and, I'm watching more public tv as well on garden shows.
I'm not a religous person but on vision tv (a spiritual network) there's a great show called "recreating eden" it is an awesome show about special gardens from around the world with great photography and excellent production values, watch it sometime. that show has changed my life and made me want to be a full-time gardener/landscaper.

I am with you. I do not watch HGTV anymore. It has become Real Estate sale channel. I do not think writing to them helps you are better off writing to their advertisers to make a change.
I agree with you as well, where is the gardening shows,I've switched to PT not only does it have great gardening shows , but also great English shows, wildlife shows, and shows with culture. Ilove it.
I love Gardening by the Yard. Curb Appeal - eh (regarding gardening) Ground Breakers - mainly pools in the backyard Never heard of desperate landscapes? What is that?
The HGTV show that really upsets me (or is it on TLC?) is the one with "Way Out" in the title.
The homeowners spend MILLIONS, literally, on backyard rennovations... installing two or three complete outdoor kitchens, informal and formal eating areas, several pools and the most elaborate things you've ever seen. It really really REALLY bothers me!
And, they are so busy showing you all the fancy electronics and special building materials that they do not spend nearly enough time on the plant materials.
It's become a personal pet peeve of mine, too.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
Desperate Landscapes is new I think, I like it. Somebody from a neighborhood of nice yards has a 'desperate yard' and they fix it up - in one day I think. It's pretty neat. Google Desperate Landscape HGTV and you should get a schedule of when it's on. I see it's on in the evening sometimes.
Paul James (Gardening By the Yard) is my favorite, but could he build a Hummingbird House or turn an ugly bus into a Bus Stop? I think not! HGTV needs to air the "gnome Show" .....

I agree with everyone who has posted their disappointment with HGTV. It's nice to see with the upper class is doing with their mansions but I originally began watching primarily because it provided me ideas and solutions I could personally apply to my simple back yard. I'll never spend the thousands of dollars that these major renovations claim to cost and I figure real estate agents are there to help with the purchase of a new home. But one thing I have done and Im not sure if anyone else has is to let HGTV know what we prefer to watch and how we are possibly turning to other programs for our needs. I'm not suggesting "gang complaining", but just expressing your concern with the change in their programming. I can guarantee they will appreciate the input from those who actually watch the shows...................my 2 cents ;)
definately, I would like to know how to build a hummingbird house myself

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
