i've googled up info and it's pretty much all consistant, anyone have any experience with weaving cattails? I've tried willows but was not successful, I know why now!

Glenda/Jayhawk weaves. Look for her or pm her. She does wonderful weaving.

What was the problem you had when weaving with willow? It's used a lot for weaving so it should be pretty good for baskets.
