What a happy ending at sisters house tonite.. We were setting an watching the birds and rabbits eat and fight in her yard.. She had a thistle bag and finches all around and 3 other types of bird ,, Brown.. Just as we were about to leave, in flew the beautiful red Cardinal.. That was the closest I ever seen one.. I didnt get the photo , but I did get the bunny one, and finches..Not close.
Wah......Thorn entertained us this winter with the cardinals. Now I seen one. thanks thorn
That made me think of how much I take for granted.... There are a lot of Cardinals in my yard all the time. (Duh! Cardinals are the state bird of Kentucky!)
When I was at Bill's I saw so many birds there that we don't have here.
OH you lucky person..... It would be very nice if you go photos of a whole bunch of them.
I love them..My aunt gave me a statue when I was very young, of one.. That started that ......
I would think the birds are all different on the west coast.......I been as far as Colorado, and was too busy with the snow capped mountains to see birds.
Hope you had lots of memorie from Bills......... He must be a nice fellow.
My friends parrot was loose when I was there.. We forgot about it , and here something was pullin my hair, I turned around and the parrot was setting on my chair post and picking at my hair........
I used to feed all my "tweety" friends year round. But this year we were at the point where all I was feeding was many many common crackles and 4 or 5 squirrels. The crackles even managed to drive away my 2 pairs of cardinals. and then the sparrows were taking over my thistle feeder. so we took down the "wild bird feed" feeder. Squirrels & crackles left--and glad to say so did the sparrows. Now all that comes around is the indigo bunting pair, the gold finches, houes finches, some brown w/ black dashes on it thing I have not identified yet (feeds at my hummingbird feeder) and a few doves. I like this better.
Depending on the weather, I will put my wild bird feed feeder back up sometime in the winter. ;)
