Does anyone know whether I should be removing some grapes from the densely packed bunches on the vines (we have one with green and the other with black grapes, three years old)to increase grape size? We had plenty of grapes last year but they didn't grow bigger than 1 cm across. May be to do with age of the plants or disappointing Dutch summer but I just wondered if there was something I could do.

I would suppose it has to do with the age of the plants...

Are these wild grapes RB? If so they only grow where you can use them on the second years growth of foliage. I have picked the black ones and left the green ones and gone back after the others have ripened, that is what I am doing now for my jelly. Hope this helps some.

No, I bought these plants at a garden centre, and one is called something like Vitifolia Boskoop or the other way around. Thanks anyway for the reply.
