I am always looking for different things to knit. Not anything that is too complicated - not up to that yet! ) ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/LynneNY/crafts%20and%20hobbies/wristletforNikki210-18-06.jpg) Hopefully it will fit Nikki and her hands will be warmer while she plays her clarinet.

Here we go again, Thorny! Did "we" not learn the last time to say "pretty please"??? Besides, it's so ridiculously easy, you'll laugh when you read the directions. All you do is cast on about 30 stitches and knit 8 inches. The pattern says to knit each row - I did it in stockinette - knit 1 row, pearl 1, and so on... Then you sew up the sides, leaving a space for the thumb to go through. That's it!!! But... be very careful about the gage of your yarn and how tightly you knit or crochet - as I said... the first one I made, which was 30 stitches was so very small and way too tight. The second one, was also 30 stitches and fits me just fine! Different yarns, same size needles. wristlets

If anyone makes some, would you please post pictures here so we can all share your talent? I love seeing how the same pattern can be interpreted differently by each of us - different yarns, stitches, etc. By the way... it fits Nikki like a glove! (sorry - couldn't resist! )

Lynne, I made the wristlets for Lys on our trip this weekend. They took me about an hour. Lys had already left for school today so Jonny modeled them for me. ![[Linked Image]](http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b173/triss67/October23gloves.jpg)

Those came out great, Triss! Thanks for sharing the picture! I guess crocheting goes much faster than knitting, though it does look like you used heavier yarn and larger stitches. Either way works! They do look very toasty warm! Hate to say it, but they look like casts, don't they?

They sure do but Lys sure likes hers. I did a chain of 31 and then 10 rows of what I call Double crochet. I dunno if that is what the stitch actually is since I never learned by pattern. I was also in the car with the kids watching a movies so I had the time all to myself with no real distractions.

It is Red Heart Plush. A meduim weight (4) yarn that is very soft and lightweight. Dark Purple is the color. I need to get a better pic when Lys gets home.

I mentioned that I was crocheting a hat for Amy last weekend. It was the first time for me, and we wanted it to be lightweight - not a heavy winter type hat - so I got some cotton yarn. The brand is called Sugar and Cream, and it felt like I was using string. It had no give to it at all, and my hands tired from using it. I'm not sure that I'd use it again, but they have so many pretty colors. ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/LynneNY/crafts%20and%20hobbies/crochetedhat1-04-07.jpg)
