I like winter at the beginning before it gets really cold. And I like to have snow for Christmas. Once February arrives and it gets really snowy and cold, I want winter to end. Today I HATE it and wish spring would just get here already!!! BTW-I just heard on the news that today was the coldest March 6th EVER here in southern Ontario!

I despise it in the fall time, when it switches over to cold.. and am waaaaaaayyyy toooo busy to bother with it around the holidays.. But about the middle of January, I like to go out and walk in the back yard, **If I can that is, sometimes it's up to my knees to my hips** The kids love to play in the snow and built a half pipe for themselves and neighborhood kids. Then around Feb, I'm tired of shoveling, shoveling and more shoveling and also snowblowing, snowblowing, and more snowblowing.. And boots, jackets and coats, and snow in my front door area.. That's when I curl up with all of my gardening magazines, a cuppa hot cocoa, tea or coffee *or apple cider or a hot cinnamin drink* and my blankie, slippers, sweats, and just sit there and dream of spring time...

I like all the seasons and would never live someplace that didn't have them. Winter makes me appreciate Summer and Summer makes me appreciate Winter. There is a certain solitude about winter that I like. This winter was a bit strange however. We are paying for the warm December, but after this month things will get better. I have my seed packets ready to go. And the kicker is that I am moving to the Oswego ares within the next 2 years! Now they had some snow this year.

I used to be a winter person, but since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism it's hard to stay warm, yes, even here. It's like I developed a horror of cold/chilly weather-hard to explain. Weezie, what's a half pipe?

Not enough vertical to get going and have any speed, but hey, they're little and they like it...

Living in S. Cal, Winter is different for me. I don't like the really cold days. I had snow that stayed more than a week! And some deep freezing that did in some of my plants. But the wonderful mild days that we are gifted with in between the nasty stuff makes it worthwhile. Being menopausal, I really dread the dead heat of summer. That's when I want to duck down to the southern hemisphere and visit New Zealand.

Yes, Weezie I am moving 11 miles from there. The locals tell me that this year's snowfall is not normal. They get snow but not that much. We will be on Lake Ontario which does get some lake effect snow, but again, according to the locals, the clouds usually pass over at a higher altitude and don't drop the moisture until they pass us.I guess if I see 200 inches of snow when I get there, I will really arrpeciate spring!

NO!!! I don't like winter , I don't like the cold , and this year I hated the ice storms , but I really love it when we get snow for Christmas. Actually, I guess winter wouldn't be tooooo bad if it only lasted a month!

I've always hated the winter. I get so cold so easily and it's hard for me to warm up. We had some unusually cold days this winter, and well, it just plain sucked. Our weather seems to be pretty much back to normal now, but it's still cold for me. Even in the middle of summer as soo as the sun goes down, I have to think about a sweater. I guess I'm kind of like my snakes. I need external heat to stay warm.

I missed having a bit of snow at Christmas this year - we were hiking on the trail at the gorge in Elora on Christmas Day - there was no more than a trace of snow.
It was good to be out moving my legs and I did well. Right now though, I have a problem just getting up the street to the stores - not even a half mile.
I pick the north side of the road to walk on - not just 'cause it isn't so icy, but because there's several places to sit on the way.
I hate streets that have no garden ledges in the fronts of houses - gotta' have a place to sit awhile before I move on a few more feet.
Women that are 20 years older than me around here laugh when they see me hobbling along.

Well, right now, winter is just a bad memory and I'm thinking spring!!! It got up to 64 degrees here today and I've been working out in the yard all day. It was wonderful!!! I know Mother Nature is not finished with us yet, but days like these give us a much needed break.

It was 58 here today, but it didn't really feel like it because it was rainy and damp. I like the first 2-3 big snows in winter, then I'm so over it all! Bring on spring!

Weezie, I'm praying nice weather is on it's way to you, too ; but I'm also praying this weather here lasts until March 19th because I'm on spring Break until that night. So far, it's looking pretty good with temperatures predicted in the 60's and low 70's this coming week, with only scattered showers this coming Wednesday.

Woooooooooo~hoooooooooo!!! Feels good on alllllll accounts, doesn't it!!!??!?! I know it's on it's way here.. *just got a bunch of stuff to still do here, and haven't had much time/energy to do it yet.. so, I am still holdin' off for a few more weeks of snow yet.. so I can get a handle on some of the inside projects yet.. Our driveways here are shear ice though now.. From the melting temps, and then overnights are still colllldddddd.. and it's tricky walking on it now..

Woooooooooo~hoooooooooo!!! Feels good on alllllll accounts, doesn't it!!!??!?! Yes, it does, Weezie! God is GOOD! Well, I didn't get as much accomplished inside before this nice weather hit either, but I'm sure there will still be many cold and rainy days when I can catch up on those things. Just be careful walking on the ice, Weezie! It's really some nasty and dangerous stuff. I hope you get a break soon so you can get outside and do what you love to do!

We did pretty good today - it went up to 13! Which is pretty good weather - 55 fahrenheit, I believe.
The norm for this time is 3.5 celsius. So said the chart on the weather channel anyway.
