Thanks, Cricket - you're the second to claim it as such, so Wandering Jew it is.

It has been in the pot since I transplanted the coleus mid-week (it came with it).

It had a wee root on it when it went in, so hopefully I'll have a nice houseplant come autumn when they all come inside.

The first one looks like a sweet pea of some sorts.
The second one is a wandering jew, not sure of the
complete name of it.
The third one looks like a corn stalk..
and some bachelor buttons *same container.*
Back one is a nasturiums...

The fourth I can't make out too well,
I'd say the sweet pea or a lupine or a mimosa ???
Not sure, can't see stem, and how leaf form's from stem, etc.

Yes, it did help - thank you. It reminded me that I did put some sweet pea seeds in the scrub pot. I'd forgotten them.

Bachelor buttons? Ooooohhhh! Don't know where they came from.

Corn? Noooooooooooo! No corn growing around here.

Carly,
Do you have chipmonk's or squirrels?
Sometimes those little guys like to find
freshly tilled area's for their corn stash.
Well, in their stashing them, usually under the dirt, they plant them in the dirt, thus growing.
They do the same for sunflower seeds too!!

I'd say it's a corn stalk.
Can you get a different view of it??
Of the stem, and how the leaves are...????
That would be a big help.
Same for the last one!!

P.S. I'll go out side and look at the seeds I started for the other plants in with what looks like in the pot with the "corn". I did bachelor buttons and I swear that's what they look like.
I'll check!!

And yes - we do have squirrels - big time!

In the daytime, my cat Skitter keeps 'em in their place, but when she comes in after supper? Squirrels frolic freely - party time!

I would go with the chippie monks or squirrels finding a kernal of corn and burying it.
Happens alot, could be from a bird feeder in the surrounding area, or a farmer planting it and the varmit stealing it and replanting it???

Keep taking pictures of it!
If it's corn it need high nitrogen to produce ears.

Ha ha! We're nowhere near the farms - but you never know - High Park's a stone's throw away and there is a section where people rent plots for gardening.

And somebody could be growing corn.

I did post another picture on a separate thread - it says 'corn-like' or something like that.

# 3 is Corn lily, someone said? Hmmm . . .

I'll keep my eye on this 'buttons' situation.

I have the same plant, the one that might be corn. I bought mine at Walmart, but it had to tag, so I am also wondering what it is.

Sami, the wandering jew has grown about an inch and a half since I posted it - I think it's going to be a nice plant to hang in the apartment.
