Hello to everyone!

I am looking for some info on my orchids. I have used just water on these. Is there any nutrients that they need then what the water is just giving them?. Is there anything I can but to help them along. They are about a few years old and I would like to keep them going to see the next bloom if that will even happen at this point?.

Thanks
Dakota

I think it all depends on the type of orchid you have. I read somewhere before that certain orchids like phalenopsis and dendrobiums need a long night and short day to bloom (like poinsettias, and mums) and that explains why they're so common during the winter months. This is a good site to check out:

I killed my orchids with too much love and not enough sunlight, they're way tougher than I thought, not so delicate!

South window no sun? I would think you would get bunches of sun in that location. I'm missing something.

We need to know the KIND of orchid you have. It matters. I can say a north window for any of them is NOT enough, even Phals would need moderate bright (no sun) light.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
