I have't finished that pink bear yet - I believe I said I was working on it... we had a power outage late yesterday afternoon for 1 1/2 hours, and I worked on it until I really couldn't see well anymore. Got the body and legs finished, and now need to start sewing it up, adding the arms and stuffing.
The thing is, Tina, that when you do the regular "knit 1 row, purl 1 row" - stockinette stitch, the ends curl in a LOT. The reason I like this pattern, is that the body and legs are knit from bottom over the top to bottom again. The only thing that needs to be added are the arms. Lots of sewing up, but I don't mind that.
It's hard to believe that this will be a plump bear, but it really works!
It is really nifty to see it unfinished, Lynne. I have made several projects (crochet) where I was following a pattern and had no idea where it was beginning from. I would be more than halfway finished before I would 'see' what I was making and say "AHA!"

Just finished her! I usually put off doing the face, 'cause I don't really know what I'm doing, but this one went pretty smoothly. Hard to believe it's the same thing from above, huh?
I was hoping to give her to a girl in Don's office - we went to her wedding 2 summers ago - but he just told me she's having a boy! What IS with all the boys these days?!?
Funny Carol!!! That's just how I felt when I had Brian first!!! I grew up with a younger sister and really did not know anything about little boys. It definitely was a learning experience!
Those buttons are perfect, Lynne. If it isn't a bib, I have no idea what this could be. That looks way too large to be a neck opening if a sweater or anything.

I stayed up 'til 1:30 this morning to get to this point of the project. On Friday, I had to frog 25 rows!!! Because I made the project just a teensy bit bigger than it calls for, and things were NOT falling into place. I hope I have gotten it right now, and I only have 1 last part to knit and then sew on the buttons.
OK! I tried to post this before picture last night, but between my tiredness and the computer, it didn't happen. Here's the project before it's all sewn up.
And TAH DAH! Here it is all ready to gift... A baby kimono sweater - made in one piece and folded like origami!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I've looked at this last picture 3 times.. I didn't post because I'm still thinking!! I can't be the obvious like another bear or a doll of some sort, that would be tooooo easy,, so I'll just wait until your done with it!

But Diane, what if Lynne is being devious and she wants us to think that she would not have us guess such an obvious guess. And so then in reality it IS the same thing as before only a blue version????
so did I confuse you enough??
