Go ahead and kavetch about the weather and what it is doing to your crops. It will just have to make us feel better.

We have had 2 hailstorms in one week. They were as bad as anything. Sunday it hit my field and the town 3 miles away and got our car. When we got home things were ok. The field wasn't too bad somehow!
Then last night we had a hummer just in our neighborhood and it was dry 1/2 mile away! It didn't even rain at my field. But all my home stuff was destroyed and all my little seedlings and the pots I just made up were under the deck but the hail came in the side and got em. madd tears I wanted to grab the trays and quick bring them in but didn't want to get beaned. I should have just put on a helmet! idea There was a dead baby bird in one pot after the storm. angel

So it seems to be quite a year for storms and now hurricane season is starting. Best wishes to all of course, but you can't do anything about the weather! (at least I got past the frost danger- one thing you can prevent damage of).

Well, it's still too cold to plant here yet, heavy frosts and lots of rain have been falling. I still never even went to buy my veggie seedlings yet.

Although alot of farmers put in their potatoes and have lost them due to wet rot.

So sad about the baby bird and sorry about your plants. The weather is so strange, last year we got a tornadoe......we never get tornadoes.

We're having wet weather here too. I have everything in the garden but can't get in to hoe the weeds. nervous I hope we don't get wet rot on our potatoes as well. Not much we can do about the weather. Even my plants in my greenhouse are behind this year. Just haven't had enough sunshine. But we'll survive....we gardeners are a tough bunch. shots

Sorry to hear about your hail storm Tamara I know the damage hail can do, makes you want to cry. tears

Not really a complaint, but it was around 98 F here today. Looks to be a bit warmer tomorow.

Let's hope the midwest dries out soon.

Here it has been the constant winds 25-50 mph. Our last freeze was May 13th and have had 3 weeks since with days in each over 100. 107 has been our high so far. Has been hard on my peppers. Slowed down the tomatoes some. Everyone is trying to put up windbreaks. First time since we moved here in 1966 it has been this bad and in the middle of the worst drought since the 30's. But as long as the hail stays away I will probably have more maters than I can eat. The heat is causing some blooms to drop but they are saying we might have some cooler days this next week with less wind. Not much today either. Getting the mulch down and the drip hose also so that will help. Hope everyones gardens survive the weather and give a bountiful harvest. JD

Hehehe, that is why I moved to Oregon. The climate is so mild most plants love it.

But I'm sorry for all you folks in the midwest with the bad weather. I'll send some good growing vibes your way.
