Carol wanted so badly to grow coconut lime echinacea's this year, boohoo , But we need her to heal and get on her feet first!
So I told her I will call my coconut lime,,,, Carol's Coconut Lime

They are coming back slow but sure, I imagine they won't be blooming until probably June?? Now how appropriate would that be for Juniegirl? grin

The Dble Pink delights are setting buds now,,,, the harvest moon is coming back well I believe it does have a bud beginning to form,,
IF any of you have echinacea's Please share them here,, Post pictures if you can,,,
I really would LOVE to have the Echinacea purpurea 'Doubledecker' , sundown and tiki torch

are they out in the stores. I looked online and found a place with the price in pounds and another place that said they're delivering to zones 8 - 10.

Carol ~ Although these are NOT bloomed yet,, I thought it might be fun for you to watch them as they bloom. This way you can imagine them at home maybe?? why I know you wanted them in your garden this year, I soooooo wish you could kissie

Dble pink delight,,
[Linked Image]

I was wrong earlier in posting ... is not the harvest moon that has a bud,, it's the coconut lime. Weird thing is it's forming a bud very close to the ground why

Hi - I am using this to see if I can successfully post a photo. Here (hopefully) is a pic of my purple coneflower from last year. Unfortunately, the plant got eaten, but I am going to try again this year.

Congrats on posting your picture, Ivy. Very pretty coneflowers!

What ate yours last year? Do you have deer there - sorry but I don't remember if you've said so. I had a terrible problem with the deer eating mine, and the last few years I had to put stakes around that garden and then I strung wire all aroung it from stake to stake. It didn't look all that pretty, but it allowed all the coneflowers to stay in bloom for a long while.

This year I am moving all my condflowers because they are too tall and floppy for the garden they are in. I hope the deer leave at least a few of them alone - they are so pretty, and the Goldfinches LOVE the seeds in the fall.

Diane - can't wait to see your coneflowers in full bloom!!!

well the blooms on the Dble pink delight didn't start out all that sassy this year,, but they seem to be coming around!,, I thought maybe it was reverting back to it's mother plant as Lynne had suggested. They have gotten taller and Much fuller than last year,, !

I will have to enjoy echinaceas through your pictures this year. The @#%$ woodchucks have eaten all of my plants down to about 5 inch stalks with no leaves and all the buds are gone!

Nice pictures.

Did you see, in Banter Hall, Diane?? I told you that I had bought my very own 'Coconut Lime' Echinacea plant. The guy seemed to think I should buy 2 but I only bought one 6 inch pot. (I think there may be 2 plants in it though )--Now, before next week, I need to find a place to plant a double pink delight--or the green envy.--decisions, decisions--

1) I got them at a mid-sized nursery close to where I live--it is called Lakeside Nursery. It is my favorite place to go. In addition to wonderful plants they have a HUGE building full of gardening "toys", additives, seeds and decorations and of course bagged soils, and concrete things for the yard. One of the Owners is a 30-something Master Gardener thumbup

2) It is still in its 6 inch pot--it is on my front porch right now--it will go in the back just to the side of my deck steps.--back there is nothing BUT sun!! rolz

3) yes they have LOTS of different kinds of Echinacea's They have those I mentioned, Harvest Moon and a few others.
