the good thing about being an Alien Mama is that the Mama's age goes backwards so I'm a teenager now too. DeNial and I are the same age right now. Here I am today. ![[Linked Image]](https://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL145/2152270/19926360/364537468.jpg)

I am so glad to see all is well in alien/lice/ birth/ teenhood/ land/... Today is our Joseph's birthday...he is 15 and wants to go to a wings resturant with his girlfriend and best friend along... so guess thats what we are doing... It's going to be a wonderful and sunny day here today- high is 82* ... Joe got our fans out of the attic yesterday so we won't get hot in here- got a couple doors open already for fresh air coming in- so nice! Coffee is on and have a big platter of all kinds of muffins and breakfast sandwiches too- juice is in the fridge .... and the tea pot is under the cozy- help yourselves to a snack or breakfast ... brunch- going out to read the paper on the swing in the backyard...... birds are singing and it's good for my soul. That does sound so good for you, Nana. I have no huge plans for my day. A little errand running but nothing major here. It is too hot to be out if you don't need to be. Upper 90's with some humidity doesn't feel too good

Some triple digit days and broken records. i am still hoping for our June gloom that is normal for us in the first part of the month. It is always a fond memory over the next three months of heat

I lived in CA when I was little but I don't remember the awful heat. We went to the beach every day though. The heat doesn't bother children like the adults I guess.
Hope you rested today Tina.

there is not nearly the heat at any of Ca beach towns that we get inland, Sheri. You wouldn't remember it because it wasn't

I have got to break down and buy me some new garden gloves. I wear the leather kind, usually, and the right hand on all my gloves has a hole in the index finger. It seems when I buy a new pair I end up giving them away.
Do you guys have an Applebees restaurant? We got take out tonight and it was horrible. First our order wasn't right and second the steaks were so tough I couldn't even cut mine. We got ribeyes.

I've been to Applebee's twice, Sheri, and didn't like it either time. I wouldn't go again! Maxi left at 7 and my house dropped into that kid-absent silence I deplore. I just don't like anything about him not being here. I especially LIKE it when he is dancing to his ipod so I can't hear the music but see the effects! Merme

Dancing is fine. But singing along with an ipod is disturbing to the listener.

Oh, I like it when Maxi sings along to his ipod, Tina. He usually sings harmony, so all I hear is (mostly) the alto line.... and alot of broken lyrics because he rarely sings all the words. Sometimes I recognize the song he is harmonizing to; quite often, I do not! I think "what IS he singing?" and once in a while I'll ask. He'll tell me or put the headphone to my ear. It's all pretty amusing, really. Since I've always played instruments that carried the melody, I automatically search for the melody in my head when I'm listening to straight harmony. If it is a song I don't know, I'm trying out various intervals on a likely path above whatever he is doing. Most of the time, the genre's Maxi picks are not my forte and so I'm lost! Cheeky kid to listen to other types of music than Mama does! But today he did sit in and listen to a bunch of Beach Boys tunes with me. YAY! Merme

OH Tina, the other day Nicoli had his Mom's ipod on and was singing away to it... in a monotone and I couldn't understand a word he sang- but he gave it his all... if he doesn't see you watching he dances too- funniest thing- he is 4 and small for his age to boot and to see him with it in his hand and headset on- he is so cute... will try for a pic if I can catch him without his seeing me do it. We had a good time at the wings place... the host who sat us kind of went "huh" when we said tables for 10 but he recovered nicely- we brought some home for Mom and she is happily eating it now and watching Mash on her tv... I think I will go outdooors for awhile with hubby untill it's time for Desperate Housewives.... I just realized I don't have a kitchen to clean up tonit- Yay! Nana

Ok, It was cute while Jonni was little. And when my other kids were younger with their walkmans. But when Jonni started listening to music I wouldn't allow played out loud in my home (language and content), it was no longer as cute.

Joanni It is even harder today to control what kids listen to.. Then they trade with each other when at school and visiting places? You never know what.
How old are your kids now?
