Can anyone tell me of a colorful indoor plant to grow something with beautiful leaves or flowers that would bring color in my rooms?

Geraniums come to mind. Geraniums ( really pelargoniums) come with colorful flowers and lovely leaf forms. And some have nicely scented leaves to add to the mix. They are also very, very easy.

Yes, I agree with Bill that a Croton is a lovely, colorful plant. But might I also suggest a Polka Dot Plant or a Tri-Colored Prayer Plant? I've also had success with Gloxinia. Sometimes these smaller plants can be awfully sweet in a room....

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Yes, violets! They are very easy and the colors are seemingly endless. What a great idea!
