The Great Backyard Bird Count will be this Friday, Feb. 12 through Monday Feb. 15. You go out in your yard and spend at least 15 minutes each day counting all the birds that you see. They also take bird pictures that you take DURING the event. I submitted 40 pics last year and had 6 of them chosen. % were chosen for the permanent gallery and one was chosen to use in their promotional material. They also give out prizes for the best pictures. It's off and running! I spent an hour on the front porch this morning in sub-freezing temps. Took about 70 pics, submitted about 10 to the GBBC! Waiting to see if they like them. I rather did. Some I REALLY liked were not quite good enought to submit.

My gosh they are all awesome.
However I am thinking the first 2 got it.
Reason: Naural poses. You can actually count the feathers.LOL

Congrats are in order thorn. That is entirely beautiful.. ALL of it . I missed the cardinal yesterday. On top of a tree screaming an I went thru mud an water for the camera.\He was gone. Thanks for showing us your great work.
