Well, I think you are right, Carol. A month with him in Bahrain will make up for kicking off the anniversary a titch late! lol

Today has been a long day. I am already weary of it and we haven't even had dinner yet! It is just too much business ... a million calls and lots of paperwork and details, details, details.

Not to mention strange people who make things harder just because they can.

So, I'm thinking about something simple for supper.... homemade deli-style cold cut sandwiches, for instance.

I wish I could think of a cold meal for tonight.--(we have been having a lot of them lately) Buit oh well n ot tonight i fear...

I think I will make hamburgers & some quick side or aanother. I always make frozen veggies, because I can take out & cook just what we will eat that way.

So today I bought some vinca vine to finish out my pot on the front porch.
I keep inching closer & cloaser to haviong the putside finished---
Now i f it would just stop raining so I could "try" to weed my veggie garden--if it does not stop raining the weeds are gonna win.

Well, gotta go now--Rod is ready to eat supper.

Hello all, I've been to busy to stop in to chat today...10:45 pm here...I've been on the go since 5:30am, time to sit for a few.

DH was forced to take this Friday and Monday off from work, he had vacation days that run out on June 1st..gonna be a LONG weekend...

Hoping I can tear apart my clothes dryer tomorrow, its running but has no heat..and the fuses and box are fine...hoping it's not the coil.

OK Tamara:

1) Just be thankful Carey is not home all the time, like some are--- rolz

2) I just told rod that he married the wrong woman---Then I proceeded to tell him how you were gonna tear your dryer apart to fix it....

Do not push too hard----you don't wanna over-do

G'nite & sleep well

I hope you find an easy fix for your dryer, Tamara, Get your soldering gun handy...
I have been laying out weed cloth and buying more mulch. I have been weeding and raking up a lot of litter so my yard looks good if people come by during the holiday weekend. But no one is allowed indoors because it is a disaster area.
It is all fun stuff out there right now.
I have about half of next years wood in my woodshed, thanks to a wood splitting fairy. But he only splits. I go and haul it and stack it.
My laundry is done for the week except for the bedding. Life is good right now.

haha ----------> Lynne.

Oh what a day today has been! I'm still suffering the aftermath of the heat wave we had. It always takes me a while to bounce back. Maxi was feeling it also and went to bed early tonight, barely able to eat his supper.

I got a lot done today and I'm glad for that.

The weekend will be soon. YAY!

Afternoon all...well I can't figure out the dryer..everything looks good. So I called a repair man, he comes tomorrow afternoon. I hate digging at electrical so I'm not taking any chances.

Hung out the last line of baby clothes today...OMG, I can't get over how much clothes she got. Forgot to take over the bedding set to wash, tomorrow.

DH is outside tearing apart an old horse trailer..it's not going to well lol and I'm hiding in here.

I am off to do some outdoor work for the afternoon, my veggie plot needs to be tilled..of course by hand rolz ..oh well.

Have a good day all.

I could have borrowed a tiller but too many people borrow my uncles tiller and with my luck, it'd break when it's here. I tried to rent one but $50 for the days rental and $40 in gas to get it and return it is out of the question.

I am in for the day, the flies have won the battle.

DH said I can take a trip to town in a few days and get my mulch...well if the repairman doesn't bleed us dry tomorrow that is nervous

wavy Sorry I've been missing, been busy. Today is my 6th day at work, I haven't been sleeping real well this week, and I've just been worn out. Today is only a half day and I did sleep pretty good last night so I'm feeling better. After work I have to get my allergy shots and then I'm on a mission to find some gluten free waffles. I got a craving. lol Tomorrow I'm running a 10K (6.2 miles) for the first time and I'm really nervous but it's just a local race, no big deal, so it's kind of practice. My longest run so far has been 5 miles so I'm hoping that extra mile will be fine, should be. Anyway, I decided that a nice waffle breakfast, complete with scrambled eggs and bacon, would be a great way to reward myself after my race tomorrow. Tonight I'm making home made pizza, which I'm really excited about. Well, I better get some work done so I can get out of here on time, have a good Friday, I'll try to check back in tonight.

Hi Tamara & Cheryl. sorry about the flies, Tam. I hope the repair man goes easy on you, so you can get your mulch.

cheryl, good luck with finding the waffles & with getting some sleep for the run.

I just returned from a walk out to the cemetary. Rod & I took Dante & Beowulf.
It was only about a mile give or take round trip, but it was too much for 12 yr old Dante`.
Plus, Beowulf wanted to "get" every dog he saw--he is the protective kind, which is good for Emily while Chris is gone, but not so much for us here--so no more taking dogs on a walk for us. nono.

Hi Tamara, boys are here now- we waited for the bigger boys and drove them home... it's to hot to walk... good thing too cause they emptied their desks and the backpacks weighed a ton... and Timothy made a giant paper airplane... had to put it in the trunk so it wouldn't get bent ....
Well they are clamoring for their snacks,, made frozen yougurt pops so that will go down nice- it's so hot....
Back later after dad picks them up.

Well I am back home after spending the evening with my oldest DD & her boyfirend. She is house sitting & invited us over to swim with them.
Well, Rod does not swim, but I had a lovely time--and it was so refershing.

Now, tomorrow night we are going out to eat with some friends and then to a club to see a friend of theirs, from the old days, who is still in a band.

Then Sunday I get to go and spend the afternoon evening with my DD and her friend again.---I am just ever so pleased. clap

So, good night to you all for now. wavy

wavy PHEW! Y'all have been busy!

Tomorrow I've got to start figuring out clothes for the Washington trip. Neither one of us has truly "warm weather" clothes because it doesn't get that warm up here, not like it does down there. Fortunately, Maxi has shorts & t-shirts for the sightseeing parts; I just gotta figure out about his dress up times. And I have no idea what to pack for me. boohoo

The kid also has a good duffel bag and I am going to borrow one. It needs to be long enough to pack my spare leg/swim leg. It isn't a good idea to travel without spare parts!

Morning all, hope you all have great weekends, our long weekend was last week..mind you every weekend seems like a long one lol

DH is gone to help another farmer for the day, leaving me stuck here waiting on the dryer repairman, hope the bill isn't too high. I want to go for mulch, veggie seeds, and tomato plants tomorrow and maybe a hanging basket if I can sneak it in the cart thumbup

I am sorry Tamara. I really dislike the way such services are run these days. I want an appointment and a call if they are running late or early. And I pretty much tell them that when I call. I also tell them I am willing to wait a day or so for that to be available. Sometimes it works, too.

so sorry to hear that, Tamara. Hopw he either calls or shows up soon.

We just came back from 2 cemetaries.
Many many graves were totally bare. It is sad how many people just look at this weekend and Monday as an extra day off from work. rolz
Not to mention when I went to check on my grandparents graves, the flowers I had put in vases for them in April were gone. Now since they were is vases they were not removed to mow, & they were not in the "trash bin" so I can only assume they were stolen, as they were not your typical grave flowers, but some pretty silk flowers I had found.--oh well----

But such is to be expected, I guess, when wars are reduced to a very few paragrapha in the history book. And that was when my 20 something girls were in school--I can only assume it is worse now---

I will hope that many people will wait until memorial day to put their flowers out---That is wahrt my Mom & dad would always do.

catch ya all later

I think it is so peculiar you must have contracts with Time Warner in TX, Di. I would not have cable if I had to sign a contract -- I think it is ridiculous. Here everybody just goes month to month. But then again, we have many many seasonal residents so contracts wouldn't work.

There are few things more aggravating than trouble w/ cable, internet and phone! I know I go crazy when it happens to me.

It is hot again here today. Very humid with scattered showers. I wish it would just do a major t-storm and clear the air!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

We have to sign contracts which is crazy seeings as the company has a monopoly on land lines and if you get other internet, you have to pay a long distanmce fee for every minute you are on line--so why, I ask, do they have you sign a contract??

Again, I'm glad I live in Maine!

Carol it sounds as though you have some nice plans. I have absolutely nothing I must do tonight, so I think a cup of Chardonay is in order. Where is that Cindy when you need her?! lol
