Hey Everyone!
My name is Stephanie and I'm a 25 year old graduate student with a dorm room full of houseplants. What started with an impulse-bought jade plant at a grocery store (it reminded me of home, my mom has one that's older than me ^_^) has turned into quite the hobby/obsession. My room has become quite the jungle!
I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself =D

Hello Stephanie & welcome. My Daughter bought a lilac bush & took it to her dorm room when she was in college to remind her of home as well. Your comment made me smile

Thanks for the warm welcome! lilacs are my favorite! One of my fondest memories from back home was the fragrance of the lilacs outside of my bedroom window wafting in on the morning breeze. I'm hesitant to add trees to my dorm room collection though, as much as I'd like to. I think I probably have enough greenery as it is! Well, I can never have enough, but I imagine the school would argue otherwise ;P I also have a desk in the graduate student room that I can decorate, any suggestions/recommendations of plants that would feel at home there?

It was very small when she bought it---after she transplanted it 2 times, she brought it home & she planted it in the back yard. When her daddy & I moved I took a start & it is now in a very large pot in my front yard. We bring it in every fall.
When she fianlly gets permaneintly settled, we will take it to her to have her plant it.

Hi Stephanie! Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you found us.
I'm another Mainiac from Old Orchard Beach.
You didn't say how much light your grad desk has...
We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
