Next we went up Mount Battie, 780 feet above sea level. The fog in the middle of the picture is at sea level encroaching on some islands. The dark spots are tree tops. About Andre The Seal... Originally there was a book "A Seal Called Andre" about a real seal. The true story is that every winter Andre spent his life in the Boston Aquarium and he would be released in the spring. Each spring, he would swim the 200 miles north to Rockport, ME and live in the harbor there. I've heard there was a small movie made about him also. Andre died in 1986, years after the statue was erected to him. He was 25 years old.
