They actually have hunting seasons for them each year. They have NO natural enemies left, so they HAVE to have some way of controlling their numbers. This state park does not allow hunting although it does allow fishing. These turkeys ARE protected from hunters and are NOT scared of people at all. I was able to walk right up to them. There were at least 17 turkeys in this flock, mostly males.

They're HUGE! Almost twice the size of our domestic Turkeys. Incidentally, Turkeys are the ONLY birds that I LOVE to eat. I don't care for chicken, duck, dove, or quail...only TURKEY!

You probably have them, Shani or will soon. There has been a VERY SUCCESSFUL program over the last 40 years to re-introduce Wild Turkeys to their original habitat in the U.S. They are spreading so fast that they will soon be in the middle of major cities in the U.S. Keep your eyes peeled for ENORMOUS flocks of ENORMOUS dark birds in the woods and fields of Ontario. That's how Wild Turkeys prefer to live. I saw 17 yesterday.

I use either a cable. or else a card reader. My SLR camera IS Digital. I use an 8 Gb Sd card to store my pictures. I take the card out of the camera, put it in the card reader and plug that into a USB port on my Comp...then DOWNLOAD AWAY!!!

Yesterday, I also heard and saw a Summer Tanager, Heard a Yellow-Billed Cuckoo, and Pileated Woodpecker and saw a distant Prothonotary Warbler, the bird I ACTUALLY went to photograph. The turkeys were icing on the cake. I had never photographed Wild Turkeys before so I was ELATED. MY wife finally spoke to me. She told me to start doing things like this EVERY day or else the grief and negative emotions would kill me. I'd been crying and vomitting and passing out from grief. Today, I went to several used bookstores to start building my library again and went by the wine store. I got a bottle of Shiraz from Australia. My doctor recently wanted me to start back with red wine at bedtime so I think I will. I usually drink Pinot Noir, but theirs at this store was too expensive. My Aussie friends had been recommending Shiraz and it was VERY affordable. I'll be pooping the cork in a couple of hours.

Is there a reason why u take the card out , as well as using the cable?

This dumb computer has no card reader, but the printer does.
Sounds like you were seeing lots of goodie stuff. Hope you got the photos of he ones you wanted.

Take one day at a time, You'll make it . Show us more photos.

Thanks

Cheese and crackers are the BEST things to have with wine. Summer Sausage and Hot Mustard are real good with wine, too. I'm out of wine but have found a NEW wine from Australia that I absolutely LOVE. It is Down Under Shiraz, from Southeastern Australia. It is VERY affordable at $6.00 a bottle and is Quite tasty.
