I keep seeing all of this Christmas stuff in the stores, and it's sadly getting me ansy lol...

What do you most look forward to during the Christmas Season? What gift would you want for yourself if you could choose? What gift would you want for someone close to you if you could just choose anything?

Spending time with my kiddo and friends... Since I was a kid I've pretty much spent holidays with friends versus family (my family doesn't really see eye to eye), so I end up floating around and can see how everyone else's families do things... Which can be a real treat sometimes hehe...

I have Trey this Christmas, so we'll probably watch movies and have a holiday ham and hang out :P

What gift would you want for yourself if you could choose?
Well, I lost my laptop in the divorce (seems that allowing my ex wife to "use" it was me "gifting" it to her); though it broke on her and she doesn't know how to repair it so I guess no one gets to enjoy it lol...

Though, as a gamer geek I'd totally eventually end up getting Kinect Sensor for my xbox, it's kind of cool, lets you play games by moving around... I kind of want one just to see what people will end up doing with it on the computer (think of those futuristic movies where people wave their hands in front of computers and can do stuff, Kinect starts to make things like that possible)

Though my TV just burned out as well, reducing me to the spare 20" tv we just happened to still have around; kind of makes doing anything difficult lol... Movies in my office are quite the pain for my nearsighted eyes lol.

What gift would you want for someone close to you if you could just choose anything?
Well, I want to get Trey a Black Wii; they had a ton of the Wii controller adapters at the Dollar Tree, so I piked them up already; it's just having enough money at once to be able to just blow on something that's the problem lol...

Having my kids and their significant others here with me for the night before & day of Christmas.

What gift would you want for yourself if you could choose?
Well I really do not spend much time thinking of what I would want. perhaps a Sleep number mattress set or a new couch.

What gift would you want for someone close to you if you could just choose anything?
I would want my oldest DD's residual Bills from her marriage to go away, her house to sell at a good price & for her to have a new car. (well, James said anything)

The food, spending time with the family. We usually celebrate by ourselves, we don't do big family things and prefer it that way. I love the lights on the houses too.

What gift would you want for yourself if you could choose?
Free registration in the Seattle Rock & Roll half marathon.

What gift would you want for someone close to you if you could just choose anything?
I would get lots of customers for DH so he doesn't have to kill himself working for someone else.

What do I most look forward to during the Christmas Season?

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Strings of streetlights, even stop lights blink a bright red and green
O Christmas tree O Christmas tree how ever green your branches
Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things!
Come, they told me, pa-rum-pa-pa-pum
Joy to the world, the Lord is Come!
Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day
An apple, a pear, a plum a cherry many good things to make us all merry.

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know
And since we’ve no place to go, let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
Over the ground lies a mantle of white a heaven of diamonds shine down through the night
Dashing through the snow in a one horse open sleigh
Over the rivers and through the woods to grandmothers house we go

Rocking around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop
Snowing and blowing up bushels of fun now the Jingle Hop has begun
Jingle bells Jingle bells jingle all the way
Away in a manger no room for his bed the little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head
O holy night the stars are brightly shining it is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Silent Night, holy night all is calm all is bright
The night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse… in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there!

Up on the housetop reindeer paws down jumps dear old Santa Claus
Johnny wants a pair of skates Suzy wants a dolly
Childhood’s joy land, mystic merry toyland
He’s making a list and checking it twice
I’ve been an awful good girl, Santa Baby, so hurry down the chimney for me.

Santa Claus is coming to town!
Thumpity thump thump thumpity thump thump look at Frosty go!
I really can’t stay baby it’s cold outside I’ve got to go away
From now on our troubles will be miles away
So have yourself a merry little Christmas
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight

yes I love decorations, putting them up, how festive the house looks then & I love Christmas Music.
There is a radio station that plays christmas music pretty much non-stop beginning the day after Thanksgiving.
I love that.

when hwe had our stero system in the livingroom back at teh farm, I had our CD player-that had 6 pack changers-on most of the time from T-Giving to Christmas playing christmas songs.
It is hooked up now in the basement. In order for me to hear it now, I would have to have it up so loud that the neighbors would be able to hear also.
My single CD/DVD player that is upstairs now, will not repeat & it gets old going in & changing the CD every so often--- badday so thank the Lord for the radio station's music.

I'm really not a Christmas person..we used to celebrate it big time when I was a young child but when my father died, my mother didn't really bother much with it ..Christmas was just a present under the tree and no other celeration with it.

I like seeing the lights and music and such but hate to see the day of..hoping it will change now with the grandbaby.

This year shopuld be the most fun though---you can buy all kinds of baby toys for not much money---ie: blocks & rings--ah yes I remember---I spent like 30 minutes buying valarie like 5 toys--did not spend $20.00 (this was 30 years ago remember)

she was SO happy & tickled--- I still rememebr that christmas-- shewinks- & I so miss it.......

Clothes are the one thing I don't want for Christmas, except from my sister-in-law, she's the only one who ever gets me anything I like the rest just take up room in the closet for a few years till I give them away.

My favourite thing about Christmas, well its everything but getting gifts. I love the celebratory atmosphere that is excentuated by lights and music and decorations and pretty trees. I love coming up with the perfect gift to makes others feel special. I actually tend to get anxious about recieving gifts.

If I could pick any gift for me it would season tickets to the theatre.

If I could give anything it would probably also be tickets to various events depending on who's recieving. Most people I know want to get rid of stuff. I find giving experiences (like tickets or a chance to do something they wouldn't normally have done) the best present going.

Tickets are great. I've given my brother and his family seasons passes for the toronto zoo for the last few years, not only does it keep the little ones entertained it provides family time as well. I've sent my sister to concerts, my sister in law asn my Niece went to see disney on Ice.

I think the best ticket gift we did was as a family I bought tickets to the national curling championships for Grandma, my mom and brother went to gether and paid for the hotel and my aunts and uncles gave gift cards to eat. So as her present she got a whole weekend away.

We have a bunch of theaters here, it gets me angry how expensive tickets are... We got free tickets to see An Illiad earlier in the month, they retail $58/person... So one night at the theater and dinner is a huge chunk of cash... I'd love to have a season pass to one of the larger theaters, I think it equates to 13 shows of your choice per year for like $300 or so.

I would like a snowblower for Christmas, to help clear the driveway, I think it may well be heavier than in recent years (at least around here).
