All fresh and new for the morning coffee drinkers.
I am up in the night to add wood to fires and sit upright for a few minutes. I am heading back to bed.

Had a long day yesterday of appointments and errands. Everywhere I went people were so sick..no wonder it spreads like fire, no one stays home. All our hospitals are shut down and walk-in clinics also. Norwalk virus is hitting our area hard. I came home and smothered myself in the hand sanitizer Carol send me a while back

Well that makes me feel better. I took out some meat to thaw..going to have one for lunch

How's your weather, has it warmed up?

It is not warm at 45* and very, very windy. But I have it better than so many so I will not complain.
Getting ready to get my son off to school. I'll be around later this morning.

It is staying unbelievably mild here..29*F today. A nice treat because February brings the -40's

I'll be in and out all day as well, just cleaning and organizing here today.

27*F here but it is snowing heavy==
I am staying home from ceramics today--
But "luckily" I have plenty of housework to do.

It's lunch time, no burgers cooked yet and my house is still upside down..feels like a Sunday.

yea me too--THIS house is upside down as well---so I am taking advantage of beiung home all of today & I am going to wqork on it --hopefully a LOT !!!

(my example of my house being upside down):
I was filing away paid bills & I found a bill that I had not paid--(yikes) so I called--luckily it was a hospital bill & they have no due dates--& they said gee if I paid it all at once they would give me a 10% discount!!! so I will do that !!!!

Good morning. It was 28 degrees when I left the house. They're dying snow this afternoon but turning to rain before morning. Sorry you have to miss ceramics, Carol. Tamara, noro-type viruses go through my work on an average of once a year. Luckily, I've never caught it but many have. For most of us it's very similar to having food poisoning, but not severe. What mist people call the "24 hour flu" is most likely a norovirus or mild case of food poisoning, since there is no such thing as a 24 hour flu. I'm really good about washing my hands and I think that has a lot to do with why I've never had it. I prefer the old fashioned soap and water method though, I don't want to become immune to hand sanitizer so I try to use it sparingly. I agree that people should stay home though. Unless you're severely dehydrated there really isn't anything doctors can do for it anyway. The girls have to play at the basketball game tonight and I guess they're having a band dinner night as well. They said they're getting pizza so it'll be just me and the boys for dinner.

I exaggerate..my 'upside down' means dishes in the sink and floors need to be mopped.

I did eat two burgers though..I feel starved today

Hi Cheryl, you snuck in on me.

I am really craving a huge cheeseburger now.
I got my son to school and went to stores and banks and now I am in for a while until I go out again to pick him up. I forgot a couple of necessities at the store so I will stop back in while out then. I was standing in the store trying to remember what else there was on my mental list...... Doggy snacks and cheese.

Rach called me yesterday and said when I go to the store to get my kitty some "Temptations" cat treats. I did...he loves them. I was talking to Rach a few minutes ago about them...she said they must taste pretty good because her finicky cat eats them right from her hand. I said "They are good! Didn't you taste them?"
...she thinks I have lost my mind. I told her if I lose my mind it's no big deal because I have it backed up on a disk somewhere.

Jonni taste tested most of the dog snacks I have ever bought. I decided to have a couple biscuits and honey. I will save my burger craving for later.
I need to go out and bring in wood.

I miss my fireplaces so bad. Had to keep 3 fires going all winter in the old farm house.

I need to bring in wood later also...never ending mess.

Wood is in now. So I am good to go. I'm thinking while I am already chilled I should take the trash to the dumpster.

I've got to put on supper in a few also...woman's work is never done

It's warming out enough that the snow is melting off the roof..hope it melts enough that I don't have to shovel it this weekend.

A very fine line between men's work and women's. And no lines at all here and now. I got my trash to the dumpster and checked my mail. I don't have to go out and buck the wind for more than it takes to go pick up Ted from school. I'll be back later.

That reminds me..I haven't gone to the mail in a few days..

yep I miss my stove as well--but then you all know that !!!

I hope Tamara & Tina smile to themselves and think of us who no longer have such nice warm stoves.

Although I love and depend on my wood stove..I can't get house insurance because of it..

Yea--many times DH has said he would love to put a wood burner in our basement for me. (heat rises ya know) but he was concerned about our home owners insurance going up so terribly if he did.

besides I could not haul wood in nor feed the stove like I used to do.
But it is nice to dream & "remember when"

yea I am not going out to get mine today either.

I think I will get any that I have ready to mail today so DH can take it out to the mail box later tonight---or in the morning if he choses.

As soon as I sit here..the phone rings..arghh..

We had trouble getting it too, so many places didn't want to look at us because of the wood stove.

Funny, I have insurance and it is pretty reasonable. But I don't own the land my house is on, just the house itself. My stoves are all up to code with safety features intact. My insurance is just contents.

Oops didn't mean to post that yet. My insurance is contents and liability stuff.

DD sent me a message about the baby:

She's only 5 months old and already 'up to tricks'..too funny.
