We are getting the huge storm that has been moving across the Northern Tier of the US. Its expected we will get at least 2 ft. Today classes were dismissed at noon & Maxi made it home safely. He said the boy who drives them in the afternoon did just fine in spite of the heavy snowfall & road conditions.

We are busy as can be packing. Still don't have a place & with this weather & the changes it has caused to my dialysis schedule, I will not have a chance to go see anything until Saturday.

Fortunately, when the agency sent a competant girl to me for a couple of hours, I sent her to the grocery & got supplies to last for a bit just in case.

Seeing this heavy weather across so many states is really surprising. Did anyone else see the radar maps? We are sorta used to it & prepared but many places getting slammed are not!

I hope everyone is staying safe -- and warm!!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I sure hope that the storm doesn't live up to expectations, and ends quickly!
Stay safe, EVERYONE! wavy

The storm is expected to blanket southern ontario starting in the wee hours of the morning but we'll only be getting a foot or so. It won't be too bad here, just enough snow to close work.

Been sleeting most of the day here--to continue a few more hours.
Then it is supposed to move onto snow this evening I guess. They say the more sleet we get the less snow we will get----
at this point we need a few inches at least to give people traction to be able to get around.
This afternoon they said that the traffic on west bound 70 & 55 was virtually non-exsistant, & that that was a good thing.

said teh main roads were slushy for the most part (since they had been treated) but all parking lots and many side roads were in horrid shape.

This morning I saw that Dallas was at -3 F. I thought about Diane & Jimmy who usually enjoy 50 F at this time of year.

We are slioghtly warmer, at 13 F, but man dear, the snow is something else! Everything is shut down today... even town government offices, banks, medical facilities. Even the major medical center is only doing emergency & acute care & have cancelled clinic visits & elective procedures. I know from experience that in times like these the hospital cafeterias go on overdrive to provide food for all the people -- visitors & staff -- who are stranded there.

Maxi was out in it for a short while this morning. He went to go check on his buddies & take our trash out. But it is too stormy for the kids to play, so he wasn't gone long.

Today I am grateful once again for our snug home.
