My dad was in his hospital bed and the crackling noise in the attic woke him up...my mom managed to get him in his wheelchair and outside. The fire was already into his bedroom ceiling at this time...and had burned the phone wires. She had to run to my sister's house to call the fire department. The house is totally destroyed...I have some pictures to post when I get out of the shower...I am killed. Have had dried puke in my hair since 2pm along with sweat and smoke from this morning...not too attractive right now, to say the least. We found all the dogs alive but so far none of the cats...guess they burned up.

OH Cindy--I wish there was something I could do....words seem so inadequate... ...I AM however so very happy that your parensts are ok.---"Things" can be replaced. Glad to hear about teh dogs---I will pray for the cats---

I'm all ready for my race but it's not quite time to go yet. Today I'm hoping to finish laundry and get some gardening, I mean weeding done.

I'm Sure you'll have a great run Cheryl,, ~Good warm up gardening (Pulling weeds) before you go, :wink: Cindy Were the cats found??   Are they okay? I baked a Birthday cake for Julian today He turned 5  Frosted it with White icing and sprinkled 'poprocks' ( tiny candy that pops and crackles in your mouth as you chew it),, It's gonna be hilarious when the adults eat it  When the pop rocks were sprinkled on the icing they immediately started to pop and crackle,, noisiest cake I ever heard

Jimmy Just got a taste of the cake with pop rocks   AND he saw the hummingbird go to the feeder right after I changed it out,, but neither one of us was quick enough with our cameras

Happy birthday to your grandson, sounds like a fun cake! What a weekend I've had. Yesterday I went bike riding with Joey for a total of 12 miles. I also started on my laundry. This morning I had a 5k race then I came home and did some weeding for an hour and a half. I am beat! I wasn't feeling well for a little while, I think I had too much sun exposure today. At least I was wearing sunscreen so I don't have a burn. I also went and did grocery shopping tonight. I'm just waiting to put my last load of laundry into the dryer and as soon as that's dry and put away I can go to bed. I don't think I'll have any trouble sleeping tonight.

Tina, so glad that I chose well---I hope that Teddy enjoyed his special day--- WE are to have 30*F weather tonight---I was just out covering my flowers (well most of them) with buckets & heavy rugs & such---this is crazy weather for sure !!!

our weather does this--it could wel be 90 tomorrow here too---in the spring it can be cold then hot then cold again--crazy thing--- G'nite to you all---sweet dreams as well....

Yes, our weather bounces in the spring too. Rarely below freezing though. I do not know why I am so sleepy tonight. I did nap today. But I guess I will go with the flow and lay my body down.

good morning everyone----I just got back in from removing the coverings from my flowers---everything did well--- Todays projects are to wash clothes, & to make hummingbird food & then set my feeders out. I have a question---has anyone used the "sip & seed" type waterers for birds ?? I think I want to buy some---Apparently you can put either seed or water in them----and I am in real need of a water sourse for my birds---I have been using a plant tray all these years but my DH has gotten rid of teh picnic tables we had that I kept the trays on----so I need some other water sourse http://www.amazon.com/Birdscapes-73...ome-garden&qid=1304518772&sr=8-1here is the link so you know what I mean

Those are pretty, Carol. I have just a large plant saucer on the ground that fills when the watering happens. The birds seem to love that. So do the butterflies.

Thanks Tina.--I found a place that will sell me just the one---I may try that for first---  about the plant asucer-- well I had the tray too, as I said, but I was concerned with putting it on the ground---So the birds do not mind???

The birds do not mind (as long as there aren't any cats around) and the butterflies like it best down low.

Cindy, I am so sorry to hear things are going that way for you.
My finger has healed. 4 weeks to the day, the small foam piece they put in place of my missing flesh fell off, and I have new skin. Sensitive, new skin. I even had to trim my nail some.
So, happy Cinco de Mayo everyone! Having a too big burrito to celebrate at work..lol.

As of Monday I will be using 1/2 the gas I've been using,, Julian and Breyton will start going to Noah's Art Christian Academy starting Monday it's right down the road from me and they will take the boys to school and pick them up,, so I just have to pick them up from there,, which means I can work longer hours,, YEA!!!!!!!!!!
